Lucas String Instrument Repair

Been under the weather a bit, but still making sawdust! Mostly repairs. Have a few builds coming up. Many thanks to everyone who visits my page. You guys rock. Here is the black limba body that I will use to make the Nashville tele. I think I might carve a neck for it using black limba also. What the heck, let’s use ziricote for the fret board. A great combination of unbelievable tone. Let’s throw in some black ebony tuner buttons. She’ll be a beauty tone beast. Oh, and the customer wants a Bigsby trim also. Not sure of the pickups at this time. gonna get a hand rubbed finish. Medium high fret wire for nice note bending. Call me, let’s plan your dream guitar. Prices start at $1800. I included some builds in various stages of build to show the beauty of black limba wood.

Here are two guitars I’m working on. The white Epiphone SG is being converted to a Les Paul SG. Interesting project. I had to hand make the pick guard and back plate. I’m shooting over the factory inlays and replace with Gidson logo on the headstock. The things you guitars players want🤪 the acoustic is an older Gibson J45. Repairing a yes you guessed it broken headstock! It will be good as new! Another project coming up, is a black limba tele Nashville electric. Pictures to follow. play well and remember DO NOT LEAVE YOUR GUITARS IN A HOT CAR. If you do, you will come crying and gashing of teeth to me because your Gibson that was handed down to you from your grandpa isn’t playing well.

Just installed Lollar pickups in a gold top Les Paul, and an American strat. Sweet tone. Great pickups.

A friendly reminder, as the days are becoming warmer, DO NOT leave your instruments in your car. The heat will damage your instruments. Jerry

The old J-45 is ready to go. Sweet girl. Nice tone, very lightweight!

Working on a late 40s Gibson J-45. Sweet one, light weight excellent tone. Re-glueing some braces. Replacing nut and saddle. Replacing non-original Tuners with period ones. Nice action. Definitely a keeper!

The second 12 string is coming along very well. I decided to stain this one blue! I should name it lill Smurf!

12 string Queenie number two is coming along really well. Carved the neck today. Round over on top and back of body. Thinking of maybe a baby blue for finish! Abby is supervising 😜

I have a Tele style electric/acoustic guitar for sale. This guitar has never been sold. It has a couple small dings. Sassafras top with mahogany body. Bone nut/saddle. Lr Baggs element piezo pickup. Indian rose wood fret board with an Indian rosewood pyramid bridge. Light body weight. Medium gauge frets. Tuners have tortoise tuning k***s. Low action with remarkable tone.
