Happy 12th birthday, Fancydog!

I just had to buy her this goofy looking toy because it has one of her favorite toys inside, a spiky, rubbery squeaky ball that squeals quite nicely. Lol she enjoyed her sniffy walk in the pet store, but we're very much hoping it cools down from a heat index of 100 so she can go on another outside tonight.

Fancy's fluffy tail is curled slightly to the side. a pink heart-shaped tag hangs from her house collar. In front of her on the floor is a small, round, white-and-blue paper plate holding a rectangular cookie decorated to look like a cupcake. The cookie has white frosting with tan icing swirls and a purple squiggle. Next to the plate is a small clear plastic cup filled with whipped cream. Resting between the plate and Fancy's front paws is a small plush toy shaped like a one-eyed monster. The toy has bright orange fur on its body and arms, bright purple fur on its feet and lower front, one large round eye in the center of its face, and two short purple horns above the eye. It has a wide, toothy grin.

kids are great.

Today, at a restaurant, I was chillin', Fancy laying next to me and 2 kids came over. One of them, Jeff's cousin's son who is 5., btw, gently instructed another kid not to pet my dog. He explained that they had to ask me for permission and if fancy was wearing her no pet thing with the circles then she couldn't be petted. That made me smile so big.

Nothing has changed this year for Miss Fancy's eyes. The tiny cataracts haven't grown. Much appreciate Bluegrass veterinary vision for donating their time. celebrated with a game of ball this evening.

Fancy wears a purpleish/blue bandanna. The bandana has small fish illustrations in orange, light blue, and white scattered over the fabric.
The main text in the center reads:
“ACVO SERVICE ANIMAL VOLUNTEER Eye Screening”
Below that, on an orange stripe, it says:
“ ”
Farther down it reads:
“Proud Namesake Sponsor:”
Near the bottom is a circular logo with three vertical shapes in orange and light blue, and next to it the text:
“epicur PHARMA”

Happy international guide dog day from fancy and I. This photo was taken last summer on vacation. We had a great time climbing sand dunes and hanging out at the beach.

Image description: Caitlin stands on a sandy beach beside Fancy. She is wearing a bright tie-dye sun hoodie with spiral patterns in yellow, green, blue, and red, along with knee-length black shorts and dark brown sandals. Fancy, a GSD sits close at Caitlin’s left side, wearing a prototype guide dog harness. her ears are at attention. The sand is a light tan color with some slightly darker patches where it’s damp and compacted; closer to the waterline it looks smoother and a bit darker than the drier sand higher up. The water behind them is a muted greenish-blue, lighter and more green near the shore where the waves break, and gradually deepening to a darker blue-green farther out, with thin white lines of foam where the water meets the sand. Above them, the sky is mostly cloudy with soft, light clouds and a few patches of blue.

Fancy, a German Shepherd, sitting on bright green grass with a small mint-green plastic Easter basket of eggs in front of her. Her ears are perked as she looks strait at the camera. her shadow stretches to the right, as the sun is low. The basket is at her front paws and contains brightly colored plastic eggs in orange, red, green, yellow, and blue. In the background, there is a row of houses and a black metal fence. Beyond are more homes, trees with early spring leaves, and a clear blue sky.
