On Caribbean American HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, we stand with Caribbean-American communities in the fight against HIV.
This day reminds us of the importance of health education, access to resources, and community involvement. While we’ve seen progress in reducing new infections and AIDS-related deaths, key populations in the Caribbean continue to face disproportionate impact — and funding uncertainties threaten the prevention services they depend on.
We must continue to advocate, educate, and support one another. Health equity for all communities is non-negotiable.

This June 5th marks the 45th anniversary of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Actually, on June 5, 1981, a publication of the CDC’s first report on the virus was released. While the anniversary commemorates a devastating history that has claimed 45 million lives globally, it highlights remarkable medical breakthroughs, with modern treatment turning the virus into a highly manageable, chronic condition.

Budgets get reduced and clinics close, but just because prevention programs get cut doesn’t mean that HIV disappears. This is about access, education, consistency, and breaking stigma. We can’t afford to go backward.
Know your status. You can get tested for free six days a week at or The Drop! Stigma, silence, and lack of resources are what put our community at risk ❤️
