September is Library Card Sign-up Month! Know someone who doesn't have a card? Bring them in to get their free card and access to all HCLS has to offer. We're giving away free library cups or mini frisbees during the month of September.

The Harrison County Library System is grateful for Books-A-Million store 176 in Biloxi making us the beneficiary of their Summer Book Drive. They were able to donate 565 new books to our collection. Thanks to you and your generous customers! We extend our condolences to the family of Robert "Bob" Lipscomb, who passed away on Sunday. Bob was Director of the Harrison County Library System for 21 years.

The Harrison County Library System is proud to support the nationwide Summer Reading Challenge launched by Second Lady Usha Vance!
This exciting initiative encourages students in kindergarten through 8th grade to read at least 12 books over the summer to keep their minds active and growing. 🌞📖
✅ To join the challenge:
1. Download the Summer Reading Challenge Tracker
2. Read 12 books by September 4
3. Email your completed tracker to www.whitehouse.gov/read/submit
🎉 Successful readers will receive:
🏅 A personalized certificate
🎁 A small prize
✈️ Entry into a raffle for a chance to visit Washington, D.C.

Happy 4th of July! Our libraries will be closed Friday, July 3 and Saturday, July 4, but you can still access our digital materials any time. Libraries play a part in our American story. Providing free access to information for all contributes to an informed citizenry, and public spaces open to all are a part of a vibrant democracy. Exercise your freedom to read at your library!
