Chairman of the SC Freedom Caucus I believe in South Carolina—in our people, in our values, in our future. I am passionate about education. We must do better.

As a state we are experiencing unprecedented growth and opportunity, and the Upstate is leading the way. We need bold leadership in Columbia to rein in tax burdens and out-of-control government spending, and to enact much-needed ethics reforms. South Carolinians should not settle for the status quo. We deserve a far better education system than we currently have. Being ranked 50th in the nation is

I just filed a bill to deal with squatting in SC.

Over half the House cosponsored this bipartisan legislation—it could pass today if it comes to the floor.

We must protect property owners and stop incentivizing illegal activity and illegal immigration.

Winning! SCFC and Grassroots Stand for Constitutional Carry! 02/08/2024

The conservative resurgence in SC is here!

Winning! SCFC and Grassroots Stand for Constitutional Carry! Today, we took a huge step in the right direction to protect and advance our 2nd Amendment rights! Last week, the SC Senate sent back the Constitutional Carry bill the House passed last year. With the bill’s return to the House came Senate amendments, most of which watered down the bill and failed...

Today I filed a bill to make school board candidates register by Party.

Voters often have little to no info on these vital races.

With DEI on the rise, waste running rampant, and declining educational outcomes it’s time to make a real change.

School Boards are not “nonpartisan” races. In fact they are ground zero for some of the most serious clashes of worldview and good governance.

Voters deserve to know what they are getting.

Today I sent a letter to our Superintendent asking him to stop funding DEI initiatives in Greenville County Schools.

I was shocked to discover that he proposed a 5 year DEI implementation program and spent thousands of Greenville County tax dollars on a DEI study that produced a 150 page DEI report. This push comes after the explosion of antisemitic radicalism on campuses across the county—much of which was attributed to left wing ideologies pushed in schools.

Even more disturbing, this major investment into DEI comes after Greenville County residents had their taxes hiked specifically for the school district.

It is completely unacceptable to spend taxpayer money on these failed, partisan programs.

Thank you to my fellow Greenville legislators for speaking out on this issue.

I have requested Governor Henry McMaster join with other governors in supporting TX Governor Abbott as he secures the border.

Conservatives must act quickly to oppose the rogue Biden Administration and stop the invasion at our southern border!
