One of the best things about small art is you can put them wherever they’ll fit. I always make sure to put a bunch of extra coats of protective sealer on the bottom in case you just want to set it on a shelf or something. This particular painting is one of the new pieces from the series, “Our Most Realistic Portraits Are Abstract.”

I’m happy to announce there are three new originals in this ongoing series. Our Most Realistic Portraits Are Abstract celebrates the idea that each of us is unique and underneath it all there is no one like us. With that understanding, our true portraits are much different than what we see with our eyes. Our portraits are not what we look like. It is a deeper dive into who we are. We are abstract. Each one of us.

It’s been raining so much I thought I’d get out the watercolors.

This one is not on my site yet so just holler if you’d like to reserve.

This is the last remaining original in this series of thirty.

“Pax et Amor” is a Latin phrase translating to “Peace and Love”.

Gods From A Religion That Doesn’t Exist Yet- 15

I think the title does a good job of conveying where I was coming from with this series. Growing up in a Catholic household, I was often exposed to religious art and iconography. Over the years, the meaning and my personal connection to religious art has changed quite significantly. With all that said, this series is not completely about religion. It’s also about us and how we relate to the symbolism, themes and ideas found in the images that guide our beliefs.

Frame Included. Will arrive framed and ready to hang.

This purple 5x7 was one of the pieces that shipped out this morning, so I thought I’d share some of the other prints that went out recently. These are all different sizes, framed and unframed. The paintings seen here were created between 1991-present and are found in the archive.

Every painting in this series starts from this basic shape. It’s kind of the core elements of a face structure at its most simple. Then I just kept adding only black and white until each one became a unique portrait. Here’s a few from the series.

The underlying idea is that we all start from the same place with the same ingredients but over time we each grow into someone unlike anyone else.
