🚨 THE NEW MIDWEST RUGBY UNION WEBSITE IS LIVE! 🏉💻
MIDWEST.RUGBY
After a LOT of work behind the scenes, the Midwest Rugby Union website has officially been relaunched! 🎉
The site has undergone a major overhaul to make it more useful, easier to navigate, and—most importantly—a better resource for our clubs, players, administrators, officials, and supporters.
🔥 What’s new?
• 📋 Centralized access to current policies, procedures, rules, and important documents
• 📞 Updated contacts and Union resources
• 🏉 A more competition-focused format, highlighting match results, standings, and the action happening across the Union
• 💰 New expense reimbursement forms
• 📝 Updated Pro/Non-Resident Player Disclosure forms
• ✍️ New and updated waivers
• And plenty more!
This is just the beginning. We’ll continue to update, refine, and enhance the site throughout the season as we add information, improve functionality, and respond to feedback from our clubs and members.
We know the redesign took some time, and we sincerely appreciate everyone's patience and understanding while we worked through the process. We believe the new site provides a much stronger foundation for the Midwest Rugby Union moving forward.
👉 Check it out, explore the new site, and let us know what you think!
🏉 New website. New season. Same Midwest Rugby.

The 2026 Midwest Men’s D1 & D2 Preseason Power Rankings are here! 📊🔥
Who’s sitting on top? Who’s lurking just outside the spotlight? And who’s about to make us look absolutely ridiculous for putting them where we did? 😂
Just remember: these are POWER RANKINGS… NOT THE STANDINGS. They’re based on results on the field, with a little historical performance mixed in for good measure. In other words, they’re our best guess—not a crystal ball. 🔮
Thankfully, we don’t have to argue about them forever... WEEK 1 IS HERE. 💥
The rankings can talk all they want. Now it’s time for the teams to do the talking.
🔥 Who got it right?
😤 Who got disrespected?
👀 Who’s about to climb the rankings?
💀 And who’s about to make us regret everything?
Drop your thoughts. Defend your team. Roast our rankings. We can take it. 😂
The Midwest season is BACK. LET’S GO. 🏉🔥

🔥🏉 THE LADIES ARE UP NEXT! 🏉🔥
Yesterday we kicked things off with the Men’s D3 & D4 Preseason Power Rankings. Today, it’s time to turn the spotlight to the teams ready to make some noise in Women’s D1 & D2! 👀🔥
The rankings are out, the opinions are already questionable, and somebody’s feelings are almost certainly going to get hurt. 😂
These rankings are based on what teams have actually done on the field, with a little historical performance sprinkled in. And just a friendly reminder before the comment sections catch fire: these are POWER RANKINGS… NOT THE OFFICIAL STANDINGS. 😏
But hey… if you don’t like where you landed, there’s a pretty simple solution:
GO WIN SOME GAMES. 💪🏉
Week 1 is almost here. The countdown is ON. Who’s ready to prove the rankings wrong? Who’s ready to prove them right? And who’s about to turn the whole thing upside down? 👀🔥
Women’s D1 & D2 — LET’S SEE WHAT YOU’VE GOT!
Drop your reactions, defend your ranking, talk your trash, and most importantly…
GET READY TO PLAY. 🏉💥

🏉🔥 The wait is over... Week 1 is HERE!
Before the first whistle blows this weekend, it’s time to stir the pot a little and unveil the 2026 Men’s D3 & D4 Preseason Power Rankings! 👀
DISCLAIMER: These are POWER RANKINGS, people — not the official standings. 😂 They’re based on what happened on the field, with a little historical performance sprinkled in for good measure. So no, finishing No. 1 here does not mean you’ve already won the league. Nice try.
Who’s too high? Who got snubbed? Which club is about to make us all look foolish by October? The debates start now.
Some teams are already polishing trophies in August, others are screenshotting these rankings and hanging them on the locker room wall as motivation. Either way, the talking stops this weekend and the rugby begins.
Check out where your club landed, tag your teammates, and let us hear your takes. Friendly banter is encouraged — bulletin board material is inevitable. 😎
And we’re just getting started:
📅 Wednesday: Women’s D1 & D2 Preseason Rankings
📅 Thursday: Men’s D1 & D2 Preseason Rankings
The road to Midwest glory starts now. Let the chaos commence. 🔥

FALL 2026 WOMEN’S FESTIVAL 🏉🔥
The future of Women’s Rugby in the Midwest is HERE! 💪
The Midwest Rugby Union Fall 2026 Women’s Festival Competition is bringing new, developing, and emerging women’s sides together for a season built around one thing: GROWTH.
These festivals give developing teams the opportunity to experience 15s rugby, build confidence, develop players, and compete in a supportive environment—all while taking another step toward the ultimate goal: building strong programs ready to enter D2 competition. 🚀
And we’re taking it across the Union! 🌎
Throughout the fall, East and West Conference sides will come together for festival weekends, creating opportunities for teams and players to compete, learn, connect, and grow the game together.
This is where programs are built.
This is where players find their game.
This is where the next generation of Midwest Women’s Rugby begins. 🏉🔥
Fall 2026 is going to be BIG.
Let’s grow the women’s game. Let’s build something special. Let’s play 15s!
Don't forget!
Tonight is the first of three training sessions reviewing the Union's ID Check and Live Scoring procedures. Make sure your Club and Team Admins are on the line!

🚨 NEW FOR THE 2026-27 MWRU COMPETITIVE CYCLE: Rugby Xplorer Live Scoring Requirements 🚨
Beginning with the 2026-27 competitive cycle, all MWRU Member Clubs are required to live score matches in Rugby Xplorer. This policy is designed to improve match reporting, player eligibility oversight, discipline tracking, and competition administration by resolving issues at the field—not days later.
Key requirements every Club should know:
🏉 Team Lists
• Team Lists should be entered by 8:00 PM CT the day before the match.
• Once the pre-match ID and roster check is complete, no roster changes are permitted.
🪪 Pre-Match ID & Roster Check
• Before kickoff, both Clubs must complete an ID and roster check.
• Players must present valid government-issued or official school photo identification (redacted copies are encouraged to protect personal information).
• Players whose identity cannot be verified may not participate.
📲 Live Scoring
• The home Club must designate a scorekeeper with Rugby Xplorer Team Admin access before kickoff.
• All scores, substitutions, cards, injuries, and player movements must be recorded live using the Rugby Match Day app.
• Both Teams are responsible for providing timely and accurate player information to the scorekeeper throughout the match.
✅ Match Closeout
• Before leaving the field, both Teams and the referee must verify the final score and all recorded match events.
• The match must be updated to "Result" in Rugby Xplorer before it is considered complete.
📖 The complete Rugby Xplorer Live Scoring procedures will be incorporated into the 2026-27 MWRU Rules of Competition, which will be released in the coming weeks.
💻 To help Clubs prepare, the MWRU will also host three virtual training sessions covering Rugby Xplorer Live Scoring procedures and best practices. Dates, registration details, and additional information will be announced very soon.
Please make sure your Club is familiar with these new requirements before the season begins. Preparing now will help ensure a smooth and successful 2026-27 competition for everyone.
