ZIPTIE has been sober 11 years today.
If he can do it, anyone can.....

Yesterday July 24th 2026 around 3AM we lost our Uncle Rick to cancer. His nickname was Hillbilly. Born and raised in Ohio moved to Washington and lived a modern style hillbilly life and fought to the end. He went peacefully in his sleep and pain-free thanks to Aunt Debbie and cousin Josh. He was 66 yrs old and one of the most amazing guys out there. Always smiling, open door to come in hang out shoot the s**t, lecture you about life, women and children. I got a lot of amazing memories of him hanging out and talking. So, today I’m smoking a brisket in his name and my birthday. So, if you’re doing any type of a bbq/ smoking post it up in honor of Uncle Rick. I’ll be posting shortly of mine and a toast with some lemon drop moonshine. Here’s to you Uncle Rick. Loved and never forgotten. Until we meet again. -Hillbilly-Bennett-

July is a s**t month for us here at Team hillbilly. But we will strive, we will push through this and we will survive with a smile on our faces with tears running down our faces and we’ll become stronger.

To my brother Hillbilly ziptie. Thank you for yesterday man. That was a surprise and there aren’t any words to describe how grateful I am to have you as my brother!! Love you brother!
