Current openings in-person and online in California and Colorado.
Reach out and get some help figuring out what to do when your partner is stressed. 😌
Every committed relationship should come with an owner's manual! One of the common strains I see is not knowing what to do when your partner is stressed.
Someone with a trauma history often doesn't stress the way a securely regulated person does, and that's usually where couples start judging each other instead of understanding each other.
Learning to read your partner's stress response (and what actually helps) is part of learning how to love them well.
More pieces of the manual coming soon. 😍

Your nervous system doesn't just need to process pain; it needs real moments of safety and goodness to lean into. That's how new patterns take root. 🌱
If you are in Golden, CO, San Diego, or Carlsbad, CA---OR even just living in Colorado or California and looking for support in your relationship, we'd love to have you ❤️
There's a reciprocal relationship between your fear response and your capacity for pleasure. When the nervous system is on high alert, the brain's pleasure and reward centers get inhibited. You can actually heal this by building new experiences of safety and goodness, not just solely processing what hurt.
This is also core to relationship work. If you're looking for in-person relationship therapy in Golden, CO, we're currently taking new clients🫶

Big news! 🌿
We’re expanding!
Compass Healing Project has a new location in Carlsbad, California. 🤍
We’re so excited for this next chapter and grateful for the opportunity to support individuals, couples, and families in North County.
But of course, you don't ever need a reason. "No" or "I can't" will suffice.
A common misconception about somatic therapy: it's not primarily breathwork or relaxation. In our practice, the goal is helping the nervous system process what it's been holding, not managing symptoms on the surface.
If you're curious about somatic experiencing, check out our blog or schedule a free 20 min discovery call with us ❤️

😎SUMMER SOLSTICE THIS WEEKEND☀️ and on our blog/newsletter!..and how to use the portal for pure goodness:
At each solstice and equinox, any changing of the season, I am reminded that my soul’s purpose isn’t about effort. It is about presence.
I choose to pull the lever, and so can you, as the conductor of my own train, and change tracks. As complex, habituated humans, however, that decision has required many mindful embodied integration steps.
And each solstice, especially summer, the shift is just a little bit easier.
New newsletter just dropped, want it in your inbox? Subscribe here: https://loom.ly/CSW5VnE or just read the highlights on the blog:

Had such a beautiful time attending and presenting at the AASECT conference!!!! Sharing a pleasure embodiment and pleasure activism-based trauma healing model with providers, therapists, and educators was such an honor. The culmination of my work in pleasure activism, pleasure-based healing, somatics, s*x therapy, and expanded healing states. Yum, just yum.
I got to be with incredible colleagues like Brian Gibney (also presented!) and fellow SEP Cassandra Rustvold (also presented this year!), and one of my beloved mentors, Tina Schermer-Sellers! And met sooo many amazing advocates for justice, power, and clarity in the field of s*xology. The presentations ranged from ADHD/Neurodiversity, Aging, Endometriosis, Pelvic pain, OCSB, gender politics, research rebellion,...wow.
Thank you AASECT Board also for awarding me the Schiller Prize for my abstract and presentation. And for everyone who came to the 3-hour intensive, YOU ROCK, thanks for receiving me.
Loved soaking up all the knowledge and good energy over the weekend. Cheers, AASECT family! 🥂
