AMERICA 250: How the Haudenosaunee shaped America’s democracy - ICT 07/04/2026

As American's celebrate their 250th anniversary today, let’s remember and be grateful for the innovative model of interdependence that Ben Franklin and the Founders researched and partly adopted from the Haudenosaunee Confederacy – the Oneida, Onondaga, Mohawk, Seneca, Cayuga and Tuscarora – who sustained the oldest continuous democracy in the world.

Who is Beyond Boulder Adventures?
Beyond Boulder Adventures is run by a long-time Boulder local who began leading bike tours in 1999 and has since led adventures around Colorado, Hawaii, and Costa Rica. She is passionate about sustainable tourism and bike infrastructure and has worked in planning, events, advocacy, marketing, partnerships, and fundraising for both initiatives.

Stewardship & Sustainability
All of Beyond Boulder Adventures experiences support the local Boulder small business and non-profit community by curating pre-paid visits to many of their cafes, wellness centers, and other experience offerings as part of our tours. Additionally, all our tours are human-powered, either on bicycles (both standard and electric) or on foot, thus preventing the use of fossil fuels.

Located in the heart of downtown Golden, on the Clear Creek Trail across from Parfet Park, the nonprofit Golden Welcome Center (GWC) offers local advice on attractions, restaurants, and things to do during your visit to Golden. Our front office volunteers are very knowledgeable and want nothing more than to help you enjoy the area.

Stewardship & Sustainability
Golden Welcome Center's mission is to serve as a charitable, educational, and informational center that supports the needs of visitors, residents, students, and local businesses, and facilitates strong partnerships with the Chamber of Commerce, civic and cultural organizations, and local government. For more than 25 years, the GWC has served as the centerpiece for information on the rich history, natural and cultural assets, and attractions of greater Golden and the surrounding region. Today, it is expanding its scope to support destination stewardship, in alignment with the City of Golden, and hosting community events and workshops to support local business and attraction managers in marketing and stewardship.

We are honored to feature them on our GoGood web-app.

"It's important to us to give back to our community, be stewards of the environment, and treat or staff and customers like family. A few of our stewardship programs include our rooftop solar panels and our food waste composting program that diverts nearly 10,000 pounds of food waste per month from the landfill. We also donate the proceeds from our Golden Backpack Pizza to the Golden Backpack Program that helps feed local kids. Congressman Ed Perlmutter even entered us into the congressional record as “an example of how a for-profit company benefits its community through a variety of ways with more than just the products they sell.”"

That's why Woody's Wood Fired Pizza in Golden, CO is a GoGood Travel Destination.
