Two paintings, one joyful burst of dandelions—and more than one way to live with them.

For the final day in Breckenridge, I’m sharing this dandelion diptych, filled with tiny seeds drifting across deep blue watercolor and little sparks of color everywhere you look.

What I love about a diptych is the flexibility. The two pieces can live together, or they can work on either side of something already part of your home—creating a little conversation across the space.

And this one really is fun. The closer you get, the more those dandelions seem to be blowing right off the paper.

The painting I almost left behind is the one people keep stopping to see.

Keep Faith and Hope Alive is one of the first paintings I created as my work began moving from abstraction into florals. The bold shape, layered watercolor, expressive lines, and deep blue color still carry the movement of my earlier abstract work—but the iris marked the beginning of something new.

I wasn’t certain I should bring it to Breckenridge. After seeing how many people have paused for a closer look, I’m very glad I did.

Breckenridge already knows how to do mountain color—but I brought a little more joy to the view.

It’s opening day, and I’m in Booth 6 with *Snow Cap Mountains*, an original watercolor filled with crisp Colorado light, layered peaks, expressive line, and fresh, luminous color.

This is one of those paintings that rewards a closer look. The washes shift across the mountains, the lines add movement, and the smallest details become more visible when you experience the artwork in person.

Apparently, small paintings can keep me very busy.

My 4x4s and 5x7s nearly sold out last weekend, so I’ve spent the week creating a fresh group for the Lake Dillon Arts Festival. They may be small in size, but they are not short on color, detail, or personality.

Today’s reel is a closer look at one of my favorite pieces in the booth.

There’s so much in this one that I love seeing up close — the watercolor layers, the movement, the little details, and all that joyful color coming together. It’s the kind of piece that really asks you to slow down and look for a minute.
