Great news! Our Next Level Online Classes are launching today! If you are a current student with us and cannot attend the in-person classes at the studio, this is a great way to stay up-to-date and get your workout in. Make sure to let us know you completed your online class by sending us a photo of you or your child training via our app. Here's what to do next:

Click the button below and head to our announcements page and download our Next Level Fit & Martial Arts student app from the Google Playstore or Apple Store. Follow the directions to get your new password. Once you're in...click the Kids or Adults Lesson #1 on the welcome page and start training. Our videos will be uploaded on Monday and Wednesday of each week while we are in this crisis. As always, let us know if you have any questions.

HANDWASHING 101!
👩🔬Did you know there is a “proper” science-backed way to wash your hands?
This might seem obvious, but in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic, it’s worth a refresher in proper technique. 📷:)
Here’s the how-to from the Centers for Disease Control:
👏Wet your hands with clean, running water (warm or cold), turn off the tap (to save water!), and apply soap.
🧼Lather your hands by rubbing them together with the soap. Also be sure to lather the backs of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails.
🦠Lathering well creates friction to help dislodge any stubborn microbes on your skin. Germs and microbes are found on all parts of your hand, especially under your hands.
💪BONUS POINTS for washing up to your elbows!
⏱Scrub your hands for at LEAST 20 seconds. According to the CDC, washing hands for 15-30 seconds removes more germs than washing for a shorter period of time.
🦎(Fun fact: This is the same amount of time it takes to hum the Karma Chameleon chorus. “Karma, karma, karma, karma, karma chameleon / You come and go, you come and go / Loving would be easy if your colors were like my dreams / Red, gold and green, red, gold and green.”)
💧Rinse your hands well under clean, running water.
👐Dry your hands using a clean, dry towel or air dry them. Avoid air blowers because they can spread more germs not only onto your clean hands, but into the air.

Jiu-Jitsu Professor Stops Would-Be Thief, Uses Moment to Teach a Lesson A jiu jitsu professor and second-degree black belt stopped a would-be thief from rummaging through his car outside his martial arts studio on Chicago’s North Side, but instead of pressing charges, he decided to use the incident as a teaching moment.

It's here! Our new class schedule for 2020 starts Monday, Jan. 6th. We have added Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and BJJ Combatives Self-Defense for both kids and adults. We have also added a few Krav Maga classes for our Int/Adv students to work their higher curriculum.

I know with change comes compromise. Although we are super excited about these additions, if for any reason our new classes are causing issues for you, please speak to one of our coaches and we will find a solution that works.
