Should we change the word Sport in SUV to Luxury? 🤔
The massive SUV market of today is night and day different than what it was when the original SUV’s came out over 30 years ago.
We took the “Sport Utility” and turned it into something that people are terrified to take on a freshly combed gravel road.
We don’t have a problem with modern suv’s, we just want them to be called what they actually are. Luxury Utility Vehicles.
And then maybe one day we can get back to the basics and what the original SUV’s were designed for.
Most exhaust companies don't have acoustic engineers on staff.

The wheels actually worth the money in 2026 🛞
Four sets you can buy this year and still like in ten.
Advan GT Beyond on the R35. Forged, light, and shaped to clear a real brake package.
Vossen HF-5 on the R8. Hybrid flow formed, which is how you get concave that deep at that price.
BBS LM on the 911. Two-piece with a real step lip. Correct in 1994, correct now.
Volk TE37 on the A90. The forged six-spoke everything else gets measured against, and it still wins on weight.

Nobody handed this generation better taste. They grew up with better reference. In 1998 your visual education was the local shop bay and a magazine three months late, and people built legends anyway. Now you’ve seen every Nakai 964 and every ruined S13 before you can legally drive one. Not more money. A bigger library, handed down by everyone who built without one.
In 2010 Ford sold a truck you could jump in the desert with the warranty intact. Nobody asked them to.
I’d still take that one. Every era since is better at it, but the SVT is the one that had to sell the idea.

Manufacturers have made it hard to mod, and they did it without banning a single part. Every simple swap now costs you a feature you already paid for, so most people never take the first step and call it a personal choice. That’s a better lock than any law. You bought it, you should get to change it without holding your breath.
