Thousands of young men fought at Gettysburg, leaving behind their families and everyday lives to serve in a war that would change the nation. But young people weren’t only on the battlefield. Children living in Gettysburg experienced the battle, too, as fighting erupted around their homes and their community became a military hospital. Their stories remind us that Gettysburg was more than a battle. It was a life-changing experience for people of all ages.

🏡 Fall Family Day at George Spangler Farm on Saturday, October 10 from 10am-3pm for a free day of family fun and hands-on history.
💥 A special evening program at George Spangler Farm on Friday, October 16 from 6-8pm where ticket holders will learn about the phenomenon, "The Fog of War."
🚌 From the Battlefield to the Cyclorama on Saturday, October 17 from 3-6:15pm where you'll get to view the Cyclorama and visit the High Water Mark via Double Decker Bus.

Go behind the scenes of the Gettysburg Cyclorama with exclusive platform access, an under-diorama perspective and an interactive discussion about the painting’s creation, symbolism and preservation.
🖼️ From the Battlefield to the Cyclorama: A Photographic Journey

⏲️ 3-6:15pm
Follow in the footsteps of photographer William Tipton, whose 1882 photographs helped guide the creation of the Cyclorama. Travel by double decker bus to the exact vantage points where his photographs were taken, capture your own images and compare them with the finished painting.

🇺🇸 When we set out to fill a field with 7,000 American flags, we knew it would be meaningful. We didn't know we'd get here so quickly.
A Field of Remembrance has surpassed its original goal of 7,000 sponsored flags, so we're setting a new goal: 17,760 flags.
The original 7,000 flags represented the approximately 7,000 soldiers killed at Gettysburg.
The new number has another meaning. 17,760 connects Gettysburg to 1776, the year our nation was founded, as we approach America's 250th anniversary.
Every flag honors someone affected by the Battle of Gettysburg, where more than 51,000 Americans were killed, wounded, captured, or went missing.
We're incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped us get this far. Now, let's see how far we can take it.
