April showers greened up the pastures. The girls are shedding out and the babies are growing. Herd is looking good so far this spring.

Seems like it's been longer than just a week, but when it's been this cold who can tell! In the midst of busting ice on water troughs and trying to thaw frozen pipes (and hands!), we had three healthy bull calves born: an Endure son and our last two direct Endzone calves. Their momma's did a great job making sure they were warm and well fed, we hardly had to worry about them. God is so good! And we're definitely looking forward to a reprieve from the frigid temps over the next few days☺️

Kicking off the week with the beginning of calving season! A hefty Gold Rush bull calf born yesterday morning, and then found a sweet little Adventure heifer calf this morning. Very thankful for two healthy calves on cold mornings. 2 down, 14 to go!

A difficult day on the ranch today as we officially retired Endzone. We are very blessed to have owned him for the past 12 years. He has changed our herd and others for the better and will have a lasting impact on our herd’s future. He sired over 100 progeny and has sons working in 6 different states and many daughters in herds including our own all over the region. Thank you to Rob Mehlman for breeding this guy all those years ago. Endzone is a Montana Raye Ranch staple who will certainly be missed.

Thank you to Adam DeValle and his family at Sunset Farm in Damascus, MD, for their purchase of MRR Thunderstruck 10M as their new herd sire. We are confident he will be a great fit for your program and hope you see many quality calves from him.
