Gettysburg PD Mounted Unit
Share
The Gettysburg Mounted Unit was established in 2017 and is a non profit that is run off of donations.
The Gettysburg Mounted Unit consists of horseback certified police officers from the Gettysburg Police Department in Historic Gettysburg Pennsylvania. The Horses are used for patrol, parades, public events and community policing. The horses belong to Horse Tours of Gettysburg, who in 2017 graciously and without hesitation decided to donate the use of their horses to help start the Gettysburg Mounted Unit. The officers practice regularly to brush up on their skills and to keep the trained police horses desensitized to standard noises that could be distracting during patrol and public events. The Gettysburg Mounted Unit is maintained by donations from the public and local businesses which ensures the officers with the resources needed to maintain the unit.

It's National Police Week.
We want to say thank you to our Police Officers as well as Police Officers all over the country for their dedicated service before self.
We would also like to thank and remember the brave men and women of the thin blue line that have paid the ultimate price.
