Sunrise on Winyah Bay
The salt water is replacing the fresh water in Winyah Bay. The Bay is loaded with bait (mullet, shrimp, and menhaden). A long with bait come the fish. I've started catching some flounder, they have been absent for much of the summer. The 20 # + channel bass are starting to show up. This should last for 4 to 8 weeks. The smaller spot tails are plentiful in the grass. The speckle trout are hitting soft plastics ( C.A.L. Baits, Bass Assassin, and Haw River). The top water action isn't too shabby.
