The post below is from a classmate who is volunteering to take much-needed supplies to the Panhandle due to the fires. It breaks my heart to think of the pain and devastation not only for the people there but of their beloved livestock and animals. PLEASE donate what you can by calling Mickan Motor and Feed at 512-863-2644. ONE bag of feed WILL make a DIFFERENCE! Thank you in advance for your compassion in action.
"Over 1 million acres have burned in the Texas panhandle. Farmers and ranchers have experienced staggering losses and need our help. Scott and I are loading trailers to haul to the panhandle. Please consider buying a bag of cattle cubes, milk replacer, bottles, vet wrap, dog food, horse feed, fencing material or other livestock items to send to those in need. Mickan Motor Company and Feed Store in Walburg will take donations for supplies over the phone or you can go by and talk to Danny. Thank you in advance!"
My yearling, British White bull prospect, "Captain" met me at the fence this morning. I swear I could here him say "Here's my left side. Here's my right side. Here's how I strut for the ladies and here's my butt! 🥰(His daddy, my beloved Pepper Steak, put the BEST butt on his offspring.) I'm looking forward to seeing what he grows in to. It's time to let the last of the British White herd move on to other pastures. I've enjoyed them immensely and will be sad to see them go. The yearling bull prospect, 'Captain', and his momma, 'Steffie', will be especially hard to part with. Steffie has GOT to be part puppy! And her son, Captain, is out of my beloved bull Pepper Steak. I see him strike a pose and see his father. I'm excited to see what he becomes. Let's talk about their prospects. Wishing this guy a happy 32nd birthday! He's been the inspiration behind Peaceful Spirit Ranch and has been a solid leader and presence to his herd. I've learned so much from this horse and have been blessed beyond measure to have been his steward. He's every little girl's dream in owning a horse. He's certainly been mine. Happy 32nd birthday, Ticket!
