Established in 1922, the Scott County Public Library serves our community from our 45,000 sq. ft.
main building, two outreach vehicles, Bookmobile, Library Express stations in Sadieville and Stamping Ground, and our Sadieville Satellite Library. Now serving a community of over 54,000, the Scott County Public Library continues to enhance and increase its total library program. The staff, trustees, and Friends of the Library work hard to make the library your door to lifelong learning and a focal point of community life.

The Preservation Station is an amazing free service that offers our patrons the opportunity to preserve family memories by turning old VHS tapes, cassettes, and photographs into digital DVD or CD files. Come check out this self-service station located inside the Kentucky Room.

Join us for a viewing of the award-winning film SHINERS. "An 86 minute documentary. Along with stunning original and traditional music, high school students write and perform a play about growing up in rural Appalachia. While overcoming problems of addiction in one of the nation's poorest counties, the inspiring students travel from their small town to Kentucky’s high school theater competition. The hearts and voices of the young people at Owsley County High School in eastern Kentucky shine as they share their story."

Do you have personal papers, receipts, or bills that need shredding? Stericycle of Lexington will be here with a truck in our parking lot to shred your material. PAPER ONLY PLEASE - no plastic, metal, film, x-rays, or negatives. No business records please, but estate and personal papers are fine. Present your library card and you may shred up to 10 boxes for free! Don't have a library card? Sign up for one that day to qualify.
