Finally, it’s happening! The church entrance by the playground is officially closed now that construction has begun. The church office has relocated to the entryway to the MCMC. If you need to access the Children’s and Youth areas of the main building, please use the Elm Street entrance.

Jesus tells us to care for the least of these, but sometimes we aren't quite sure how to do that. Kairos Prison Ministry is a volunteer-led program that shares God's love with incarcerated men, women, and youth, as well as their families. We would love your help to provide 100 dozen cookies for a Kairos Ministry retreat in early October. There are several ways you can help:
- provide prepared chocolate chip cookie dough, or
- bring already-baked chocolate chip cookies, or
- bake with us September 29 anytime between 10:00 AM-2:00 PM
Cookies need to be approximately 2-1/2 inches in diameter, and may not contain nuts.

As we wrap up our Generations series, let's take a look at a few ways that FUMC Georgetown has exhibited its mission of “living out God’s love everywhere we go” just in the last decade:

Two new ministries for Young Adults began, in the form of Young*ish and Open Table. Both of these ministries were developed after identifying a need for young adults to have a sense of community within the church. Young*ish was created for young-ish adults navigating careers, relationships, parenting, faith, and more. Open Table is for young adults aged 18-25 to gather weekly to share a meal, ask real questions, and build true friendships.

The Quail Valley Neighborhood Ministry has marched into its second decade of supporting the Quail Valley Neighborhood. This ministry is focused on providing meaningful recreation and social opportunities for kids and families within the greatest area of need in the Annie Purl Elementary attendance zone. Through monthly events, school supply drives, Spring Break lunches, and holiday parties, love for our closest neighbors continues.

Since 2023, First United Methodist Georgetown has partnered with ZOE Empowers, an organization that equips orphaned children and youth-led families with solutions to overcome extreme poverty for good, through a three-year, community-based empowerment program.

From our “Rooted in Faith, Growing for Tomorrow” campaign in 2025, we have several construction projects underway at the moment: Sanctuary interior improvements, Church office reconfiguration and restroom addition, 3rd floor interior improvements, MCMC interior improvements, and a new Nursery addition to the MCMC. We are also remodeling the white house South of the church for Open Table Young Adults future use.
