A HUGE shoutout to the three Georgetown police officers who responded to a 911 call from my almost-17-year-old daughter recently. She had broken down in a turn lane and, in her moment of crisis, couldn’t get in touch with her mom… 🤦🏻‍♀️ Me. I’m the mom. 😂

They responded SO quickly, were incredibly helpful, and sooo, so nice. They kept her safe until I could get there and even helped get her car started.

I’m beyond grateful that her first real run-in with “the law” was such a positive experience. ❤️

You may have been responding to “just another call,” but to this mother, it was much more than just another call. You were taking care of my girl when I couldn’t get to her yet, and I’m so grateful. Thank you for treating her with such kindness and making a scary situation so much easier. ❤️💙

🚨 Sextortion: Know the Warning Signs. Protect Yourself. 🚨

Sextortion is a serious crime that happens when someone threatens to share private or sexual images unless the victim does what they demand.

These threats can come from strangers met online, people posing as someone they are not, or even former romantic partners trying to control, embarrass, or harm someone.

Once criminals obtain photos or videos, they may threaten to release them, demand more content, ask for money, or use threats of violence to continue the abuse.

The fear, shame, and embarrassment victims often feel can make them afraid to ask for help — but you are not alone, and reporting it is the right thing to do.

✅ Do not send more images.
✅ Do not pay or give in to demands.
✅ Save messages, screenshots, and evidence.
✅ Tell a trusted adult, friend, or law enforcement.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, more than 3,000 children were identified as victims of sextortion in 2022.

Talk with your kids. Know who they are communicating with online. A conversation today could prevent a victim tomorrow.
