Congratulations to Sergeant Wes Catron on his successful completion of the Academy of Police Supervision at the Department of Criminal Justice Training in Richmond, Kentucky.
This intensive three-week program is designed to prepare law enforcement supervisors with the skills and knowledge necessary to lead effectively in today's policing environment. Throughout the academy, Sergeant Catron received advanced training in leadership development, communication, ethical decision-making, personnel management, conflict resolution, team building, officer accountability, and supervisory responsibilities.
With the upcoming weather in the forecast, itโs a perfect time to remind everyone that the roads require extra caution. We want everyone to reach their destination safelyโwhether you're headed to work, running errands, or just picking up dinner.
Please keep these tips in mind while youโre out on the road:
๐๐ฅ๐จ๐ฐ ๐๐จ๐ฐ๐ง: Rain makes roads slicker than you think. Reducing your speed gives you more time to react to unexpected stops or standing water.
Double the distance you usually keep between yourself and the car in front of you. Stopping distances increase significantly on wet pavement.
If your wipers are on, your headlights should be on, too! This helps other drivers see you, not just to help you see the road.
Using cruise control during heavy rain can make it harder to maintain control if your vehicle starts to hydroplane.
Put the phone down and keep both hands on the wheel. Distractions are dangerous enough in dry weatherโdon't risk it in a storm.
Letโs look out for our neighbors and keep our streets safe. If you see standing water on the road, remember: ๐ง๐๐ฟ๐ป ๐๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ป๐ฑ, ๐๐ผ๐ป'๐ ๐๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ป.

SuN Meals had an incredible turnout for our first distribution day, and we are so grateful to everyone who came out to participate. As with any new program, we do our best to anticipate needs and prepare accordingly. However, sometimes adjustments are necessary to ensure we can serve families as safely and efficiently as possible.
The turnout at Lemons Mill Elementary far exceeded our expectations, which is wonderful news, but it also created some traffic and logistical challenges. We want to be good neighbors and remain respectful of the residents and businesses surrounding our distribution sites. To help address these concerns, we have updated the meal pickup route for Lemons Mill beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, June 16, 2026.
This new traffic pattern will improve efficiency, help reduce congestion, and allow us to better serve our community. Most importantly, it will help ensure that as many children as possible can receive meals each week while maintaining a safe and organized distribution process.
For those who have registered to pick up meals at Lemons Mill Elementary School, please use Lisle Road and enter through the Lisle Road Soccer Complex. The address for this entrance is 564 Lisle Road in Georgetown. Please see the map below.
As a reminder, meals are for children age 18 and under and are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, based on federal guidelines. Meal distribution at Lemons Mill will take place from 4-6pm while supplies last. While we use registration numbers to prepare for each meal distribution, registration does not guarantee that meals will be available when you arrive. To receive meals, you must be in line before the posted end time.
We appreciate everyone's patience, flexibility, and support as we continue to learn and grow this program. Our goal is to meet the needs of our community, and we look forward to serving families throughout the summer.
