Are you a high school senior? Or do you have one in your family or close to your heart? PFLAG Georgetown is proud to offer a scholarship each year to a community member or ally, working in conjunction with the wonderful folks at Wellspring Church.
From PFLAG National regarding the new policy from DPS regarding markers on drivers licenses:
"In Texas, y'all means all, and some of our strongest values rest on our freedom to be yourself — that no matter your race or gender or who you love, you can go to the bank, get a job, start a business or start a family and that's welcome here. But you can't do most of that if the State prevents you from updating your identification. This kind of harassment targets transgender, intersex, and nonbinary Texans specifically, and it cuts right to the core of who we are.
DPS needs to fix its policy and make sure every Texan, no matter their race, their gender, where they're from or who they love, can have a representative ID."

September 19th Support Group Meeting at 7:00pm at the Georgetown Public Library!
It's hard to believe that September is almost upon us. I hope that first day of school has gone well for everyone. Now it's time to think about our September 19th PFLAG Georgetown Support Group Meeting. We will have a special guest from Keshet for our September meeting.
Keshet was founded in 1996, originally as an on-line support group for LGBTQ+ Jews in the Boston area. They rapidly grew to a national organization and recently expanded their reach to beyond the internet. Texas now has two full-time Keshet staff positions, focusing on outreach and education.
Come hear Rachel Gollay of Keshet speak at our September 19th meeting. She'll tell you about LGBTQ+ challenges we're facing over the next year. Although her focus is on Jewish members of the community, all are welcome.
Keshet - For LGBTQ Equality in Jewish Life Keshet works for the full equality of all LGBTQ Jews and our families in Jewish life. We equip Jewish organizations with the skills and knowledge to build LGBTQ-affirming communities.
