The Showroom Is More Than a Showroom

When you walk into our showroom, I want you to feel something.

I want you to see possibility.

Because this space represents so much more than beautiful furniture and accessories. It represents a vision that started years ago—one that Alex and I dreamed about, built together, and continued to grow.

We didn’t just want to create a place where you could come in and buy a sofa or a dining table.

We wanted to create an experience.

A place where you could walk in and say, “I can see this in my home.”

Where you could sit down, touch the fabrics, see the finishes, experience the scale of the furniture, and begin to imagine what your own space could become.

And for me, that’s what design has always been about.

It’s not just about making a room beautiful. It’s about creating a space that feels like you.

This showroom is one of the many reminders that sometimes the things you prayed for don’t arrive looking exactly like you imagined—but when you look around, you realize…

God was building something all along.

And this?
This is part of the vision.

Which one is calling your name?

This office transformation was especially meaningful to me because this client, Veronica, has trusted me with her home for years. My husband and I first walked into her home years ago to design her living room and bedroom, and over the years, I’ve had the privilege of being trusted with so many different spaces in her home.

This project carried a little more emotion for me than most. But I knew I had to honor the vision, honor the relationship, and finish what we started.

We transformed this open room into a beautiful, elevated office by:

Enclosing the space with custom glass
Adding statement wallpaper
Installing new drapery
Adding a new light fixture
Fresh paint
Layering in furniture, art, accessories and greenery
Creating a space that feels intentional, sophisticated and completely her

Veronica, thank you for continuing to trust me, trust my vision, and trust the process. It is never lost on me what a privilege it is when someone allows me into their home and trusts me to help bring their vision to life.

I hope this office brings you joy, inspiration and many productive moments for years to come.

REINTRODUCING TRANQUIL DESIGNS

Episode 1: Meet the Woman Behind the Brand

You may know the name Tranquil Designs.

You may have seen our projects, walked through our showroom, followed our transformations, or even purchased something from us.

But today, I want to introduce you to the woman behind the brand.

I’m Deri Washington.

I’m a designer.
A builder.
An entrepreneur.
A creative.
A furniture curator.
A furniture designer.
A problem solver.
And most importantly, I’m a woman who believed that a vision could become a legacy.

What started with interior design has grown into something much bigger.

Today, Tranquil Designs is more than interior design.

We design spaces.
We build spaces.
We furnish spaces.
We stage homes.
We design cabinetry.
We offer window coverings.
We provide project management.
We offer financing options.
And now, we’re even designing our own furniture collections.

From designing spaces…

to designing the pieces that live inside them.

That’s the evolution of Tranquil Designs.

Under our umbrella, we have multiple companies and multiple sides of the business working together to create a complete experience for our clients.

But behind all of it is simply a woman who loves design, transformation, and creating beautiful spaces that feel like home.

Over the next few weeks, I’m going to pull back the curtain and show you the parts of Tranquil Designs that you may not even know exist.

We’re going to talk about the design side.

The construction side.

The furniture store.

The Alexander Collection.

Cabinetry.

Window coverings.

Staging.

Our projects.

Our showroom.

The lessons.

The growth.

The wins.

And yes… even some of the challenges that came with building all of this.

Because this isn’t just a reintroduction of a company.

It’s a reintroduction of a brand, a vision, and the woman behind it.

So if you’ve been following me for years, thank you for being here.

And if you’re just meeting me…

Welcome.

This is Tranquil Designs.

And we’re just getting started. 🤎
