We’re grateful to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for their generous donation of toy bags to Holzer Pediatrics! Chris Ann Adair recently delivered the thoughtful gifts, which were received by Joey Miller, APRN, CNP. These toy bags will help bring a little extra comfort and joy to our youngest patients. ❤️ What’s your favorite part of helping patients? I take pride in building strong relationships with patients. It is a blessing to be an integral part of their healthcare journey and improve their quality of life by helping them hear better!

👂What’s one thing you wish everyone knew about hearing? Untreated hearing loss significantly increases the risk of developing cognitive decline and dementia.

🎸What’s a fun fact about yourself? I have worked at Holzer for 26 years and enjoy spending time with my patients. In my free time, I love to travel! I hike around the United States with my family.

🎧 Why did you choose audiology? I chose to become an audiologist because I enjoy helping people. I always knew that I wanted to work in healthcare. As an audiologist, I make a difference in people's lives by improving their ability to communicate.

❤️ What’s your favorite part of helping patients? It's rewarding to see the immediate improvement that patients get from being fitted with hearing aids. I also love building relationships with my patients and their families!

🎧 Why did you choose audiology? I chose audiology because I enjoy making a meaningful difference in people’s lives. I especially love working with children and being part of their journey as they develop communication skills and gain confidence in their ability to hear and connect with the world around them.

❤️ What’s your favorite part of helping patients? I love seeing those “lightbulb moments!” Whether it’s a child responding to a sound for the first time, hearing their name, or gaining confidence communicating with the people around them, those special moments make this job so rewarding. I also love getting to know each child and celebrating their unique personality along the way!

👂 What’s one thing you wish everyone knew about hearing? Hearing is about so much more than simply being able to hear sounds. For children, access to sound can play an important role in developing speech, language, learning, and social connections. And every child’s hearing journey is different—there’s no one size fits all approach!

🎸What’s a fun fact about yourself? I’m a music lover! One of my favorite things about audiology is how closely hearing connects us to the sounds we love, from music and laughter to the voices of the people who matter most!

🎧 Why did you choose audiology? I chose audiology because I believe hearing is about so much more than sound. It’s about connection, love, and being able to fully experience life. Cochlear implants have become my greatest passion because of the life-changing impact they can have on a person and their family.

❤️ What’s your favorite part of helping patients? There is nothing more meaningful to me than knowing I’ve helped someone hear a loved one’s voice, share in a child’s laughter, or experience a sound they thought they might never hear again. My greatest hope is that every patient I meet can enjoy all the beautiful sounds of a full life, without missing a single moment that matters.

👂What’s one thing you wish everyone knew about hearing? Sudden hearing loss is a medical emergency. If your hearing suddenly disappears or significantly decreases, seek medical attention immediately. Early treatment is critical! The best outcomes take place when treatment begins within the first 72 hours. An ENT physician and audiologist can help guide your care. Don’t wait! Your hearing is too important!

🎸What’s a fun fact about yourself? I was born and raised in Gallia County. I was actually crowned Miss Gallia County in 2008! I love being part of this community and am proud to call it home!
