THIS SATURDAY, AUGUST 22ND 4-6:00PM AT POULTRY PARK; Join us in saying NO DATA CENTERS IN HALL COUNTY OR ANYWHERE!

We'll be at Poultry Park with protest signs and information available opposing data centers in Hall County. If the Hall County Board of Comissioners won't listen to us at the meetings - they can most definetly hear us when we're shouting in the streets!! 🗣️

Show up with a friend, wear weather friendly clothes, and bring water. We'll have a tent available where people can sit if they need a break from the heat. We'll also have a small cooler - if you'd like to bring any water or ice that'd be much appreciate.

We know it's short notice - but we also know you f*cking hate data centers so show out and don't forget to also come on out to the next Hall County Board of Commissioners meeting August 27th 6:00pm, at the Hall County Government Center for when the BOC votes on the updated ordinances on data centers.

Caitlyn answered questions on a variety of topics of concern from members and stayed long after the meeting to personally meet people and answer more questions. Today marks the anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment—a milestone in the fight for voting rights, but not the end of that fight.

The amendment prohibited denying the right to vote on the basis of s*x, but in practice, it did not give all women the right to vote. Women of color continued to face discriminatory laws, intimidation, and other barriers to the ballot. It took decades of organizing and advocacy—and the Voting Rights Act of 1965—to strengthen federal protections against racial discrimination in voting.

That history matters today.

As the SAVE Act threatens to create new barriers to voter registration, we have to remember the lessons of our history: when access to the ballot gets harder, the people most affected are often those who have had to fight the hardest to gain that access in the first place.

The fight for voting rights continues. Tell your senators to vote 'NO' on the SAVE Act!

We loved the honks and thumbs up of support during our Friday Sign Waving although one “waver” relayed their bemusement at one encounter! Calling opponents “communists” to whip up a new Red Scare like the 1950’s McCarthy era seems to be the Administrations new strategy for the midterm elections. It’s good to be informed before spewing rhetoric. The Ideologies Chart from “Purple Room Politics” is a helpful tool to have.
