As a public utility, GRU is a pay-as-you-go brick and mortar business. They are not working on the next killer app, or developing a high tech gizmo.
GRU, which already has $1,000,000,000 in outstanding debt, has signed a devastatingly opportunistic $3 billion (yes, that's BILLION) contract with a corporation that proposes to burn our woodlands for electric energy generation. Remembering Mark Venske, activist and idealist.
Sadly anti-biomass activist and mayoral candidate Mark Venske is no longer to be seen around town on his wheelchair as he passed away recently.
Some of Mark's friends are getting together to remember Mark under the large oak tree on the grounds of the Thomas Center at the corner of NE 7th Ave and 2nd St. at 4 pm this Friday afternoon at 4 pm.
We would love to meet with more of Mark's friends from the many aspects of his life here in Gainesville.

✔️Found one or more non-profit organizations to address a social need, and appoint yourself as the well-paid executive officer.
✔️Get elected as a city commissioner.
✔️Make sure you and your cronies use Gainesville taxpayer dollars to fund said nonprofit.
✔️Rinse and repeat.
