One of the fun facts about Lonely Bird is that she is just a paper drawing that has come to life. That means if you draw her and cut her out you too can have a Lonely Bird that lives at your house. To make it even easier I drew some Lonely Birds and made them into a downloadable file so you can print out Lonely Birds that I drew and cut them out. You can go to my website RuthWhiting.com to find the file. These are official Lonely Birds with integrated stands so be sure to check them out.

I love this moment where I can compare these views. This shows the model, and the real life-sized install of one of our new super cool RainShades. These are 20 year rated, fully shaped, dry membranes that also block all UV and have a cradle to cradle rating too. I've been obsessed with these for the last 8 years and am constantly developing the truly insane process it takes to make them. Really exciting stuff actually, but the physical model to real life comparison, it does a thing to me.

WINNER: ! ! !

Well, honestly it is hard to imagine a more fun post to craft. My phenom of a wife, Ruth Whiting, is the winner of the ILA Primary Fiction award for 2023 with Lonely Bird 1. Along with her fantastic team at Candlewick Press, Ruth has been pouring immense creative energy into this three-book series. I'm now, and forever, married to an -award winning author- !!! The second book comes out in October of this year.
