Struck out early with the crew this morning and put two boars on the board with the young dogs doing the work. These young guns are right on the brink of making the big leagues and earning their spot in the pack.

Pretty good feeling seeing a buddy grab some PKP dogs, head to the woods by himself, and catch his first solo boar.

That first solo catch is one you won’t forget!

Briars grabbing at every step. Heat climbing by the minute.

Glad the team was able to stop the race quick.

They put the brakes on this boar and got him handled before the day got too hot

The next generation has hit the ground.

The blood stays strong.
The standard stays high.

A good boar hog put the young dogs to the test today, and they answered the call. He dished out a few hard lessons along the way, but they stayed hooked, kept the pressure on, and got him stopped.

They took a few cuts from this old warrior, but that’s part of the game when you’re learning what you’re made of. We got them cleaned up, patched up, and they’ll be back in the woods before long.

Every hunt tells you a little more about what’s in a dog. These young ones keep showing us exactly what we hoped they would!

Another one joins the ranks!

She’s got a long road ahead, but every great hound starts with the right blood, the right opportunity, and plenty of boot leather.

Every female has to earn her place, and we’re hopeful this little girl grows into everything the PKP program is built around.

These girls are hanging with the big dogs now and proving they belong.

Still young, still learning, but they’ve already got enough grit to get game in the air and stay in the fight.Proud of how these PKP females are coming along.

Cut our three 8-month-old females loose last night and they didn’t waste any time.
Struck a mountain boar and had him bayed within 400 yards.

I’d say they’re figuring it out just fine.

Getting both of them legged back up for summer.

Putting the miles in now so there’s no questions when it’s time to go.

I’ve always liked hunting off a good mule…
they’ll take you where you need to go and keep their head when things get rough.
