Pam Tends To

She’s come so far in just a few days. I’m truly in awe of her bravery and resilience. Life is only going to get better from here, sweet girl. 🐾 💗

Part Three: Fostering
Reminder that all of the Westies, including my foster, have adopters lined up. The shelter is not accepting any new applications for these dogs 💗
Meet back here for the final Part Four, when I have to return her to the shelter. 🥀

Thank you for your interest in the rescued Westies at the Everett Animal Shelter 💗

Part Two: Meeting # 20 ⬇️⬇️⬇️
The first time I met Westie # 20, she was covered in her own waste and her severely matted hair held the stench of her neglect. The smell was so bad I couldn’t help but gag repeatedly. Somehow, even with all of that going on, # 20 still won my heart by letting her excitement for my attention slip out through her fear. She was scared, but desperate for interaction. She was cowering, but inching closer. She was curious and brave, and I was in awe of her. 💗
Come back for Part 3, where I show you # 20’s life outside of the shelter, and tell you her shelter name! (She’s not just a number anymore!)
Reminder that the shelter has received over 300 applications for the Westies, so no new applications are being accepted at this time. Donations to the shelter are always welcome ☺️

Part One: Intake ⬇️⬇️⬇️
Unfortunately, it’s not uncommon for dogs to be seized and taken to a municipal shelter while their owner is investigated or at trial. I see this type of “case” dog every week as a shelter volunteer. But because of the volume of dogs in this particular case (42 Westies!!), the story made headlines and the public got a glimpse of all of the work that the Everett Animal Shelter does to care for dogs in our community. Work that usually happens out of the public eye.
The public also stepped up for these 42 dogs, and the shelter received over 300 adoption applications! The shelter staff are currently working their way through all of the applications, and no new applications can be submitted at this time.
Meet back here for Part 2, where I get to tell you more about meeting these dogs, why I almost puked, and my love for #20.

These rats are available to adopt at the Everett Animal Shelter in Everett, WA! You can walk-in to see them any day from 2-5 pm, except for Wednesdays! Someone come get these cuties!! 🐀
