Big Thank You to the FISD Special Education PTO for treating us at the TC and TEC for Teacher appreciation week! Yummy lunch and the soda bar is so fun!

We had our annual park clean up day today and it was the most beautiful day!

❤️🩷It's time to start getting ready for Valentine's Day! ❤️🩷
The FISD Transition Center students hand make adorable heart shaped Valentines out of recycled crayons that they have collected, peeled, sorted, and melted here at the TC. They make a great non-candy treat for Valentine's Day! The work and preparation helps our students learn and build employment skills for their futures. The proceeds from our sales directly benefit our class and help to fund student activities!

Great day at the park! Started with disc golf and ended with homemade chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwiches!! YUM!

Our students volunteered again at League City FUMC's food truck distribution day - partnering with the Galveston County Food bank to distribute food to families in need. We were sorting and bagging food, packing carts for families and loading the food into their cars. What a fulfilling way to serve our community - and fun too!!! This day in particular was extra special because this distribution was done in memory of one of Ms. Rachel's friends, Steve Jones. Steve was disabled as a young adult after surviving brain cancer. He was a sunshine kid and a long time member of the church. The food truck was one of his favorite missions and we were honored to be a part of it again. Our students have been working very hard practicing their skills for reaching out to supporters, answering questions about the items, and filling out their forms/sharing their ordering link. In addition, our students will also sort and prepare each order here at the Transition Center for their customers. 👍👍👍
