When a baby is born, everything is so tiny, delicate, and special. As a photographer, I find myself drawn to all their little details—the mouth, fingers, toes, eyelashes, the soft hair. Each of these features is part of who they are, and capturing them feels so important to me. That’s why I love photographing them this way.

Sometimes I even think how beautiful it would be to have images like that of myself—those small details that tell a story. It’s precious.

Have you ever had a session you thought you wouldn’t be able to finish?
I bet you have. We all do.

The difference is in how you handle it when it happens.

Mom had told me beforehand that she wanted me to focus more on family photos… but of course, I wanted to do everything—my full workflow.
Because this is me—this is how I work, this is what I love to deliver.

The session started beautifully. Family photos went smoothly, and baby did great while wrapped.
But as soon as I unwrapped him… he just wouldn’t settle. Only for a few seconds at a time.

So what did I do?

I followed him. I did what he allowed me to do—and that’s perfectly fine.

When this happens, it’s so important to lean into what your client asked for, stay patient, and go with the flow. Not every session will go as planned, and that’s okay.

Even without him fully settling, I was still able to send mom a gallery of 58 unedited images to choose from.

And honestly… I’m in love with Broden and this beautiful blue setup from

Texture, light, and a whole lot of love.

I live for these timeless setups, whether through soft neutrals or intentional color, that keep the focus exactly where it should be: on your beautiful baby.

Stepping out of my comfort zone for a very special reason today!

This is a bit different from what I usually do, but capturing my stepdaughter’s engagement was such an amazing experience. It’s always scary to try something new, but I’m so glad I did because I’m completely obsessed with how these turned out. Sometimes the best results come from trying something new!
