We are a group of aviation enthusiasts, pilots, and builders with a passion for aviation and serving the local aviation community in Frederick, MD.
Whether you fly, build, restore or simply enjoy airplanes and aviation, you are welcome to attend our events and join our Chapter. We are a group of aviation enthusiasts, aircraft builders, and pilots who get together with like-minded people to share ideas, exchange information, encourage safety, serve the local aviation community and have a lot of fun doing so. Please come to our next meeting or event as our guest. Chapter 524 meets the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the EAA Chapter 524 Aviation Education Center which is located at the Frederick Municipal Airport. As you enter the airport, park in the Terminal Parking lot. Walk south past the flight school (yellow building). There are signs on the end of the second row of hangars for the Chapter. Our Chapter is part of the worldwide network of EAA Chapters. EAA embodies the spirit of aviation through the world's most engaged community of aviation enthusiasts. EAA's 170,000 plus members enjoy the fun and camaraderie of sharing their passion for flying, building and restoring recreational aircraft. Thursday, September 3 at 7:00 p.m., come by the hangar for a special meeting. We'll have a short presentation honoring Gerry Blake, then we will had over as a group for a tour of the FDK control tower.
It is important that you travel with the group and not drive directly to the tower facility. Because of the limited size, our group will go up to the cab in smaller groups. We hope to see you at the Chapter hangar on Thursday!

We're deeply saddened by the recent passing of one of our Chapter's charter members, Gerard "Jerry" Blake. A kind soul, a brilliant mind, a mentor to many, and a love of all things aviation, he will be missed by all of us and by his friends and family.
