Proud to represent the John R. Webb VFW Post 3285 at the Army Heritage Month Celebration!

Today, our members had the distinct honor of attending the Army Heritage Month Celebration held at the U.S. Army Fort Detrick Auditorium. It was a powerful morning dedicated to honoring the legacy, service, and sacrifice of the United States Army and its servicemembers, past and present.

A special highlight of the event was hearing from our very own Post Commander, Darryl Warren, who gave a moving speech during the ceremony. His remarks underscored the deep, enduring connection between our local veteran community and the Soldiers currently serving at Fort Detrick.

Thank you to Colonel Christopher M. Chung and the U.S. Army Installation Management Command for the invitation to join this tribute. It is always a privilege to come together to recognize the invaluable contributions of the U.S. Army and to celebrate our shared military heritage.

📰 We Made the Front Page of Neighbors!

​A huge shout-out to our very own John Stein for his incredible efforts in working with the local media to get VFW Post 3285 the recognition it deserves! Thanks to John, our recent National Day of Service project was featured on the front page of the Neighbors section in the Frederick News-Post.

​On May 9th, our members traded their uniforms for "Day of Service" shirts and headed out to Willowdale Park. Together we cleared over 1,500 pounds of trash from the park and creek.

​Helped restore and enhance our local watershed.
​Proved that service to our community doesn't stop when we take off the uniform.

​We are so proud of everyone who came out to sweat for a good cause, and extra grateful to John for ensuring the Frederick community sees the heart and hard work of our Post.

​What an incredible evening! The Frederick VFW team came together tonight for a fantastic dinner during this year’s convention.

​A massive thank you to Thrive USA Home Care Services for graciously providing the meal and supporting our veterans. We truly appreciate your generosity and partnership! 🍽️✨

​Tonight was extra special, but bittersweet, as we shared one last convention dinner with our outgoing Commander, Danny Rodriguez. Danny, thank you for your outstanding leadership, dedication, and everything you’ve done for our Post and the community. We are so incredibly grateful for your service.

​As one chapter closes, another exciting one begins! We are incredibly thrilled for the future of our Post and excited to be led by our incoming Commander, Darryl Warren. Welcome to the helm, Darryl, we are ready to hit the ground running under your leadership! 🦅

Yesterday, members of VFW Post 3285 gathered for a short, meaningful Memorial Day ceremony to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

The weight of our gratitude remains immeasurable. Through the playing of Taps and a shared prayer, we paused to ensure that the legacies of our fallen brothers and sisters-in-arms are never forgotten.

Thank you to all our members, families, and community neighbors who joined us to pay their respects. We live in freedom every day because of the heroes we honored yesterday.
