๐ Help Us Bring Comfort to Local Kids with Project Linus! ๐
The Frederick VFW is proud to be an official drop-off location for the Project Linus Frederick County, MD Chapter!
They provide handmade blankets to local children facing illness, trauma, or hard times.
Here is how you can help:
Drop Off Blankets: Bring brand-new, handmade blankets directly to the VFW and look for the designated white basket near the front counter (no need to call ahead!).
Become a "Blanketeer":
Knit, sew, crochet, or tie blankets at home.
Sizes range from Baby (36" x 36") to Teen (50" x 75"). See images for the full size guide.
Donate or Volunteer: You can also donate supplies (fleece, batting, thread) or volunteer your time to sort and deliver blankets.
Every stitch makes a difference!

๐บ๐ธ VFW ACTION ALERT: STOP VETERANS' BENEFIT CUTS ๐บ๐ธ
Congress has introduced the Take Care of Americaโs Veterans Act. While it includes many important provisions the VFW has fought hard to achieve, it comes with a massive, unacceptable catch.
To pay for these new benefits, Congress wants to slash VA disability ratings for tinnitus and sleep apnea.
Here is what is at stake:
๐ $57 Billion in cuts over the next 10 years.
๐ฅ 1.5 Million veterans directly impacted.
Letโs be entirely clear: This money isn't being saved by cutting waste, fraud, or bureaucracy. It is being taken directly out of the pockets of veterans, money used to pay mortgages, buy groceries, cover medical bills, and support families.
The VFW refuses to accept the idea that one group of veterans must lose so another can win. Disability compensation is not charity. It is an earned obligation, part of the contract made through military service. A grateful nation pays its debts to our veterans, it doesn't send them the invoice.
โ ๏ธ WE CANNOT LET CONGRESS SET THIS DANGEROUS PRECEDENT. If disability compensation becomes an acceptable funding source today, it will happen again tomorrow.
HOW YOU CAN HELP:
1๏ธโฃ TAKE ACTION: Click the link below to message your lawmakers. Tell them to remove these offset provisions and find a funding solution that doesnโt come at the expense of veterans and their families.
2๏ธโฃ SHARE THIS POST: We need every veteran, family member, and supporter to make their voice heard.
