We want to send a massive THANK YOU to Jeanne and George, two of our most dedicated and active volunteers in the Rides for Good program. Jeanne (pictured) was also nominated as our 2025 Volunteer of the Year last year between both Rides for Good and ! Your selflessness and commitment to keeping our community accessible inspire us every single day.

Volunteers truly are the foundation of the Rides for Good program. Without your time and your hearts, we wouldn't be able to make the impact we do right here in Frederick.

As a small token of our appreciation, we recently gifted them their very own custom Rides for Good vests to make them look nice and official when helping their neighbors in need on the road!

This Wednesday, we're teaming up with our friends at Wag's Restaurant in Downtown Frederick for a Tips for a Cause: Safe Summer Edition!

From 6 PM - Midnight, owners Carlo & Dave will be behind the bar. 100% of their tips will benefit The Safe Ride Foundation and help keep our community (and our roads) safe this summer.

We'll also be there with:

🍺 FREE Breathalyzer Testing Outside

The team came out in droves yesterday at the 2026 Frederick Nonprofit Summit!

What an incredible day of growth and inspiration, surrounded by some of our favorite people, our fellow local changemakers right here in Frederick County.

A morning of pastries and networking led to a deep dive by Glennda Testone, the CEO of the Nonprofit Leadership Lab, into how local organizations can thrive, adapt, and keep making a meaningful impact "Because the World is Counting on Us."

The fireside chat that followed with local leaders gave us so many great insights to bring back to our mission at the Safe Ride Foundation. More than anything, yesterday reminded us how incredibly proud we are to stand alongside such a vibrant, supportive, and passionate community of fellow nonprofits right here in Frederick County.

We left feeling deeply grateful for the incredible network of fellow nonprofit leaders we have here in Frederick County, proving just how strong we can be when we work together!

Wilhem, our Director of First Impressions, and the 2025-2026 team of ‘Nonprofit Management and Leadership’ students are absolutely thrilled to be collaborating with Hood College once again this year!

Our mission to provide safe and reliable transportation across Frederick, MD doesn't just happen on the road; it takes a village behind the scenes, too. This past semester, these brilliant students are diving into our world to help us craft, design, and share the Rides for Good Story.

We’ll take any chance we can to help the next generation to drive safely!

Recently, we had an incredible time at the State Farm Teen Driving Safety Event in Mount Airy. From police K9 demos and MDOT rollover simulators to the obligatory drunk golf cart rides, it was a day packed with vital lessons for Maryland’s newest drivers.

The Safe Ride Foundation was proud to be on-site, providing free breathalyzer tests and chatting with local families about making the right choices on Maryland roads. Huge thanks to State Farm for hosting, inviting us to collaborate, and giving us the opportunity to teach drunk-driving prevention in Mt. Airy!

SOS Safe Ride’s FREE Breathalyzer Booth: You may have seen us on the river or outside of bars! Our booth offers preventive information and the opportunity to check your BAC on a safe night out!
