Frederick's best Emo Night is back! Tickets go on sale THURSDAY, 8/22. They will sell out. There are no more tickets available once they are gone. Don't snooze or you will lose! FB event link in comments.

2024 will be the final year that Could Be Better manages booking for Olde Mother.

It doesn't feel real putting that into existence here on the internet as we thought this day would never come, but even the stubborn get tired.

So let’s get some facts and details out of the way:

1. We love your band(s) but our books are closed for the year and there is a greater chance Joe Biden becomes president again than it is for your band to play at Olde Mother in 2024. We’ve been booked up since March and this year has been incredibly challenging and rewarding all at the same time. Our last few shows will be announced throughout the next few months. Cannot wait.

2. Olde Mother (Keith, Kristen, and everyone who makes that place special) are 100% our ride or dies. We cannot express how grateful we are to them for partnering with us to build this amazing environment for original/touring/local bands, to play all ages shows, that end by 10pm since 2021. There is no drama. There is no bad blood. Olde Mother will be handling booking for 2025. You can contact them on their website for availability for 2025, but shows may look a little different as they try out new/old(e) approaches to live music. Be patient and most of all be kind as they go through new changes.

3. None of this would have been possible without a fantastic group of people that helped us run these shows, terrific bands that played over the years, a incredible group of sponsors for our podcast Mehtwork, and warm support from people who want to see music thrive in this city that somehow consistently tries to sabotage itself at every turn. We are so so so grateful for all of you….well, most of you 😉

Colin and I are incredibly proud of the work we’ve done at Olde Mother simply because of who we got to do it with. Thank you for being a part of something beautiful. We will see you around.

Now, if you’ve made it this far, we’re shocked and really need to know how much you skimmed, so for the kids out there who don’t have time for anything but the Tik Tok:

TLDR: two sappy dads quit booking shows at the best venue that’s also a brewery because life gets really complicated and you have to rebalance priorities before you miss moments you’ll never get back.

Happy birthday to the one and only butthead! This show is going to be a blast. Mark your calendars and bring your earplugs.
