The Cattle Raisers Museum officially opened in 1981 to build greater public awareness of and appreciation for our ranching heritage.

The mission of the Cattle Raisers Museum is to preserve and protect the heritage of the livestock industry and, through educational programs, events, workshops, and exhibits, to share their culture with present and future generations In November, 2009, the Museum relocated and re-opened within the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History. Established by the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Foundation, the museum's goals include educating students and the general public as to the cattleman’s independent nature, pride in the free enterprise system, devotion to private land ownership and commitment to environmental stewardship.
