March is "National Play The Recorder Month"! The recorder was the first instrument I ever learned in my elementary school music class. It has to be one of the ugliest sounding instruments! Haha! What was the first instrument you learned to play?

Hello everyone! I just wanted to give an update to all the music fans out there...

Recently, I began working with my husband Alan at Referral Cleaning and Restoration Inc.. It has been a lot of fun, with a lot to learn, so I have found it difficult to balance all of my interests. However, I have decided that that will change today!

There is a lot we can do with the time we are given each day. Creating music is one of those things that inspires me. It gives me life. It is my sweet spot, my runner's high, my level up. And I have been neglecting it for the past several months.

I spent hours developing my custom song idea and into Tuned In Melodies with a slick website and it had been my pride and joy for a period of time. Recently, I have become more inspired to devote more time to creating. According to my husband, he says that when I am creating, I am extremely happy. He would know.

As a result, I have updated my website and adjusted my pricing. While I have lowered my prices, this by no means diminishes the value I hope to provide my clients. I have decided not to spend hours and money on advertising to grow my business. Tuned In Melodies is now my favorite hobby rather than a serious business venture. I would prefer to work for family, friends, and referrals, hence the price adjustment.

I believe that good music should be easily accessible to all, and what should be even more accessible to all are priceless memories. I hope the result of these changes will be that even more people can enjoy their own personal Tuned In Melody and the bit of inspiration that I can provide through music.

Live Music Announcement!

I will be joining Kelley and Gary Baird and Larry Ford at Nick's Martini & Wine Bar this Saturday October 3 at 9 PM. This is a supporting role, as they are the headliners, and they have invited me to play some cover tunes during their breaks.

This will be the first time I have played live in a few years, so come on out and help me feel warm and fuzzy!

It has officially been one year since Tuned In Melodies launched its services! It has been an awesome year of helping others celebrate their big events. Growing up, my dad recorded David Letterman every night and we would watch it together the next evening. Often, my dad would save the exceptional musical performances specifically for me so that we could watch them, analyze them, re watch them, and enjoy them together. I remember being fascinated on more than one occasion. My dad is a drummer and I began learning guitar at age 14, so we could talk about music all night.

David Letterman made over 6,000 shows during his career and last night was his last. He invited such a varied group of musical guests on the show during that time, which helped me to discover many new and old artists. As a pre-teen and a teenager, some of the artists I discovered had a huge impact on my life.

I really enjoyed seeing the Re:Create installation at the main Allen County Public Library in Downtown Fort Wayne. It was so neat to read other locals' ideas on how to improve the local art community. And it was pretty awesome to see my thoughts in print for all to read!
