Quarterly meetings. They're a necessary evil, right?

Not here at SES. We don't believe they're evil at all. In order to keep the owners of our 100 percent Employee-Owned company apprised of our business performance, we believe quarterly meetings are necessary, but they don't need to be stuffy.

We like to think we put the fun in function. So, at our November meeting, we played "The Price is Right" - complete with prizes - to present some cost of doing business numbers, provided great food from the King Arthur's Paddywagon Food Truck and wrapped the day learning to throw stones at The Fort Wayne Curling Club. A fun and informative day.

We’ve got a new vendor in our gift shops - Garden Genius! These seed kits contain seeds of native plants and come in two sizes. These make great gifts for the nature lovers. Available at both Fox Island and Metea. Cash or check only.

Annual Shareholders Meeting, but with a twist. The shareholders of SES Environmental are its employees, and we toasted 10 years of our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).

Employees from our Fort Wayne, Reno, Northern Michigan, Grand Rapids, Louisville, Detroit and Kalamazoo-area offices gathered at Hop River Brewing Company in Fort Wayne to discuss strategies for refining processes and increasing communication, play a ESOP Buzzword Bingo for gift card prizes ... and learn the most recent valuation of our stock shares.
