Phew! The rain last night made harvesting a little messy today, but Kyle got it done!
Tomorrow (Thursday) is delivery day and from 2-4, you can have fresh, delicious produce delivered straight to your door!

From start to finish our lettuce is a labor of love.
Starting in February, 6- 128 cell trays are seeded each week. The seedlings are nurtured until they are strong enough to head to the high tunnel, or the field later on in the year. The plants are then watered and protected from the cold and heat. This means many nights where Kyle has to run out and cover the plants with frost blankets.
Once the lettuce has grown to size, Kyle cuts it by hand each week. He then triple rinses it before drying, weighing and bagging.
Finally, the lettuce can be delivered to your door, or purchased at our farm stand and the Celina Farmers Market, where it reaches your table, to end the journey! 🥗

Monday on the farm includes checking on the strawberry plants and tilling in cover crops and weeds to prep the beds. Working to get all this done before the rain so we can get things planted.

The rain this morning washed us out from the Celina Farmers Market. If you missed us, we have plenty of lettuce and eggs available.
Please feel free to stop out at the farm, there is a black fridge in the office building.

Don't forget, now is the time to get your orders in for our Thursday delivery day! Orders are due by 10 am Thursday morning with deliveries running Thursday afternoon from 2 to 4. If you are in the Fort Recovery, St Henry, Coldwater and Celina area this service is for you.
We have been harvesting plenty of lettuce, and radishes this past week. The chickens have been working overtime as well, so there is no limit on eggs.

Carla Rosa, Eva, Chieftain and Kennebec, if you know those names then you know they are potatoes.
And yes we finally got potatoes planted for the year. All 200 pounds of seed potatoes which comes down to 1,500 feet of potatoes.
With all of May being too wet to plant, we are slowly catching up. More good things on the way!
