Our Eagles ❤️ to serve!

Another amazing day with this amazing organization!

Despite their busy schedules during finals week, this amazing group of Florida Gulf Coast University students came out for a day of service learning at the Bonita Springs Assistance Office. 🦅

They started the morning with pantry prep, making tons of grocery bags along with bagging fresh produce, including onions and carrots. After that, they jumped right into pantry distribution, where they helped serve 69 households, totaling 225 individuals.

We are so grateful for their hard work and willingness to serve, especially during such a busy time of year! 😁

If you’re an Eagle looking to earn service learning hours over the summer or next semester, we’d love to have you join us in the pantry! Sign up below if you’re interested! ❤

Students at Veterans Park Academy for the Arts read with Duke, a therapy dog from Beeley’s Paw Prints, as part of Lori Hammond’s Tales for Tails project.

FGCU Block 1 College of Education students apply concepts from their Professional Teaching Practice course by working directly with elementary students in the classroom.

Developed through Ms. Hammond’s participation in the Fall 2025 Service-Learning Faculty Academy, this project allows FGCU students to earn course credit while completing service-learning hours and building real-world teaching skills that support their future careers.
