Sheep barrettes. New for this years . Now that I said that, I hope they survive the kiln! I want to have enough for everyone so if this interests you drop a note so I can make enough to bring to the event.

Checking out recycled clay.

This refired bowl might be a keeper! I’m actually developing a new technique for glazing. More to come later.

I’ve seen where people say painting on 3-4 coats of glaze takes too much time and dipping is much faster. That is if you don’t count how long it takes to paint on wax to resist the glaze. Always use a dedicated brush / foam brush so you don’t contaminate your glaze or underglaze with wax.

Reclaimed clay can have unexpected surprises.

Throwing a small bowl from white clay. It took about 5 minutes of work once the clay was wedged and centered.

Recycling some clay. Standard 225. It’s a tan clay. I actually like recycling clay. I find it therapeutic and it can’t be rushed. I probably would enjoy it if I had 100s of pounds to recently every week; this is about 14 pounds.

I’m thinking of making more of these melted snowman ornaments for next year. They are fun to make!
