šŸ“ One month of BasePoint North Richland Hills!

Over the past month, we’ve officially opened our doors, cut the ribbon alongside the North Tarrant Chamber of Commerce, celebrated with our team and community partners, and most importantly, begun providing care to teens, young adults, and families.

One month in, North Richland Hills is already becoming part of a bigger story: bringing quality behavioral healthcare closer to more communities across Texas.

We’re grateful to everyone who helped bring BasePoint North Richland Hills to this community and to those who continue to trust us to support the individuals and families we serve.

Knowing what needs to get done is one thing. Getting started and following through is another.

Executive functioning plays a role in how we navigate the demands of everyday life. Understanding how it works, and what can affect it, can change the way we understand ourselves and others.

On World Su***de Prevention Day, we’re reminded that su***de prevention doesn’t begin at the point of crisis. It can begin much earlier through meaningful connection, a sense of belonging, conversations that make it easier to ask for help, and access to quality behavioral healthcare.šŸ§”šŸ’›

Research among adolescents and young adults has found that greater social connectedness is associated with stronger intentions to seek help and more resilient coping. The CDC also recognizes access to high-quality behavioral healthcare as a protective factor against su***de.

šŸ’¬ Prevention can look like checking in. Listening. Celebrating the wins. Making time for each other. Creating space for honest conversations. Inviting someone in. Connecting someone to professional support when they need it. Showing up consistently, on the hard days and the good ones.

Today and every day, we can all play a role in creating stronger systems of connection and support for the young people in our communities.

For counselors, educators, parents, and professionals supporting teenagers, noticing when something has changed can be an important first step. Stress, shifts in behavior, or challenges at school can signal a need to look beyond what’s happening on the surface.

Today, BasePoint is at Grant Halliburton Foundation’s When Life Hands You Teenagers Conference, continuing the conversation around recognizing the signs, connecting teens and families with the right resources, and identifying the level of care that meets teens and families where they are.

šŸ“If you’re at the conference today, find Angie Scalf and Mia Fontanarosa at the BasePoint booth!

For the third year, BasePoint’s Best in Class Breakfast brought school counselors and student support professionals from across DFW together for a morning centered on the year ahead and what it means for the students they serve. ⭐

What began three years ago as an opportunity to recognize the professionals supporting students every day has continued to grow into a space that brings education and mental healthcare to the same table.

From conversations around student mental health to celebrating this year’s BasePoint Scholarship recipients, we were proud to continue a tradition that honors the people who show up for students and families throughout our communities.

Three years of Best in Class. One continued commitment to the people shaping The Year Ahead. 🩵

Emerging adulthood asks you to build a life while you’re still learning how to carry one.

Between school, work, finances, relationships, independence, and expectations for what comes next, feeling stressed can almost start to feel like part of the job. šŸ’¼ But stress and burnout aren’t the same.

⚔Stress often feels like too much; too much to do, too much to think about, too much competing for your attention.

šŸ”‹Burnout can look more like not enough left; less energy, less engagement, and a growing sense that you don’t have the capacity you once did.

At BreakThrough, we work with emerging adults navigating mental health alongside a stage of life already filled with significant transition. When stress, exhaustion, or disengagement begins interfering with someone’s ability to function in everyday life, it may be time to look beyond the stress itself. āž”ļøhttps://basepointbreakthrough.com/schedule-assessment/

What looks like a lack of motivation in young adults may be something entirely different.

Anxiety, emotional dysregulation, executive functioning challenges, and the growing pressures surrounding young adulthood can all shape behaviors that are too often interpreted as a ā€œfailure to launch.ā€

At the Northern Metro Counseling Association Fall Conference, Vanessa Pike, LCSW, Executive Director of BasePoint North Richland Hills, will take a closer look at the modern young adult mental health crisis and how a developmentally informed perspective can help counselors better understand and support this population.

We’re proud to recognize Jordan Anselma, LPC, Regional Director of Operations at BasePoint, who has been named to Behavioral Health Business's Future Leaders Class of 2026. 🌟

Selected from peer nominations, Future Leaders recognizes professionals who are putting vision into action and helping shape the future of behavioral healthcare.

For Jordan, that impact starts with people. Throughout her feature, she shares how leadership has taught her the importance of developing strong teams, creating opportunities for others to grow, and building the confidence and capability of the people around her.

It’s a philosophy that extends to the future of behavioral health, too: continuing to evolve, expanding access without compromising quality of care, and staying willing to learn, collaborate, and adapt to the needs of the people we serve.

We’re proud to have leaders like Jordan who are putting those qualities into practice every day and helping shape what comes next for behavioral health. 🩵

šŸ” Beyond the Point by BasePoint

Academic success isn’t a definitive measure of strong mental health.šŸ“

Some students continue showing up, completing assignments, earning good grades, and meeting expectations while quietly struggling with their mental health.

For others, the signs may be more visible: difficulty concentrating, increased absences, missing assignments, changes in performance, or withdrawing from the things they once enjoyed.

šŸ’” Remember to check in with the students who appear to be thriving, too. Academic success doesn’t always tell us how a student is doing beyond the classroom.

If the conversation signals a need for more support, our Patient Access team is available to help families and student support teams navigate what comes next. šŸ“ž972-325-2633
