🎉 Happy Birthday, Sondra Johnson! 🎉

Today we’re celebrating an incredible volunteer whose heart for serving has blessed our community for 23 years! ❤️

Sondra has been with the Forney Food Pantry almost since the very beginning, when the pantry first opened in the old city jail in downtown Forney. After seeing an ad in the newspaper asking for volunteers, she answered the call—and we’ve been grateful for her ever since.

Sondra is one of those amazing volunteers who can do it all. Whether she’s packing food boxes, preparing baskets for families, or filling in wherever an extra set of hands is needed, she is always ready to serve with a smile and a caring heart.

When she’s not at the pantry, Sondra enjoys putting together jigsaw puzzles, tending to her garden, and dancing! In fact, she takes multiple dance classes every week and loves every minute of it. She also shares a birthday with the one and only Lucille Ball—how fun is that! And if you want to make Sondra smile, just bring her anything topped with icing or caramel! 🍰

Christmas is her favorite time of the year, a season that reflects the joy and generosity she shares all year long.

Sondra, thank you for your 23 years of faithful service, your kindness, and your unwavering commitment to helping our neighbors. You have made a lasting impact on thousands of lives, and we are so thankful to celebrate you today.

Another week of serving our community with grateful hearts. 💛

This week, we served 115 families, reaching 414 family members.

Every week brings new faces, familiar faces, and countless opportunities to make a difference. Because of the generosity of our donors, volunteers, and community partners, we’re able to provide more than food—we’re able to offer hope and support to families when they need it most.

🍜🧀💛 A big shout-out to Brady Pitts for donating ramen, mac & cheese, and snacks! These items are always in demand and help us keep both our pantry shelves and backpack program stocked.

🥛💛 Another Wednesday means another wonderful milk delivery! We’re so thankful for our amazing weekly milk donor whose faithful generosity helps us provide fresh milk to families week after week.

🥫💛 Thank you to the First Methodist Church of Forney for the canned food donation! Pantry staples like these help us continue serving the growing number of families who visit us each week.
