Fire pumps are a vital part of many fire sprinkler systems, driving the necessary pressure and volume to keep water flowing when it isn’t generated by the water supply. In such cases, sprinklers won’t function correctly without a pump—and the midst of a fire isn’t the time to figure out that your fire pump isn’t working properly. The fire pump flow test is a crucial annual requirement to ensure that the system works in an emergency.

Service Fire Industrial offers NFPA-MANDATED 5-year internal pipe inspections for your fire sprinkler system. During the inspection, our technicians will open a flushing connection at the end of one main and remove a sprinkler toward the end of one branch line to inspect for the presence of foreign organic and inorganic materials. These inspections are a must to keep your fire sprinkler system in proper working condition!

To schedule your 5-year obstruction inspection, call Service Fire Industrial at 844-799-3473! Our technicians will be happy to assist you!

Lets talk Backflow Preventor Devices!

A backflow prevention device is a product that ensures water can only flow in one direction. There are multiple types of backflow prevention devices, and they all work best in specific applications. All backflow preventers, no matter the type, protect clean water lines from wastewater contaminates.

Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) requires all public water systems to maintain a cross-connection control program that protects the distribution system delivering drinking water to your home or business. Some cities here in Texas have started requiring their residents to have their home backflows inspected/tested annually. Most businesses, too, have backflow devices that the state does require annual testing. There are many different backflow devices. There are domestic, irrigation and fireline backflows just to name a few. These devices can be found in the ground, riser room, pump rooms, on carbonators, and vaults.

Service Fire Industrial can take care of all your backflow needs from installation, repairs and inspections. Feel free to contact us with any questions or to schedule an inspection.

FIRE ALARM INSPECTIONS:
No matter which type of business you own or manage, your commercial fire alarm systems must be inspected, tested, and maintained by a fire protection company in accordance with the National Fire Protection Association Standards-NFPA 72, Chapter 14. Though inspection requirement intervals may vary depending on your fire alarm equipment and the rules imposed by your local Authorities Having Jurisdiction, the NFPA Standards for quarterly, semi-annual, and annual fire alarm inspection are universal.

Contact us with questions about your Fire Alarm inspections! We would be happy to answer any questions you might have and get any inspections due scheduled for you!

Happy Friday! Is everyone dry and safe from all this crazy Texas weather?

Warmer weather is here and the firework season has begun! Service Fire wanted to remind everyone to be safe! Fireworks cause thousands of injuries and fires every year.

**Just some WOW Facts**
-More than 19,500 reported fires are started by fireworks annually.
-Burns account for 44% of the 9,100 injuries treated in the ER around the July 4th holiday.
-Half of the firework injuries seen at the ER were extremities: hand, finger or leg. 1/3 were the eye or other parts of the head.
-Children ages 10-14 had the highest rate of fireworks injury with more than 1/3 of the victims of firework injuries under the age of 15.
-Sparklers account roughly 1/4 of ER firework injuries! (Sparklers can reach 1200 degrees F!! WOW!)

Have fun this summer but be safe!

Did you know?? 🤔

Fire protection water tanks, also known as fire suppression tanks, play a crucial role in safeguarding properties from fires. These large tanks hold water specifically for firefighting purposes, ensuring that firefighters have ample water to suppress any fire threats.

Service Fire technicians recently went out to Blue Ridge ISD to perform a quarterly inspection on their water tank.
