last slide sums it up pretty well.. yesterday was a blur, last night was a dream. and the band CRUSHED. we beat a malfunctioning wireless mic seconds before they walked on stage. watched my buddy do the damn thing. heard a 40 minute set consisting of mostly songs I helped write. TM'd an artist by myself for the first time. we stopped at buc-ee's and absolutely nothing else happened there. all time memories all around. thank you Trey and the boys for having me. 🤘🏼

now for the personal stuff.. a few years back Trey and I really dug in on the songs. writing with him has been insanely refreshing. he wanted to tap into that thing we felt when we fell in love with the songs growing up. that's when I feel like we really hit our stride. that's where we got songs like "Last Time I Saw You" and "What If We Got Tattoos", and so on.. Trey and his dedication is what got us here. he has no idea how inspiring it's been for me to watch up close. I don't know many people who work harder than him. last night was the ultimate testament to that. idk what to say, but proud is an understatement.

turning 32 today.. promised myself I wouldn't see another year older without putting new music out. today I'm sitting in a hotel room, somewhere in the midwest, soaking in the fact that I accomplished that goal. 'Overthinking' is a week old and the love y'all have shown it already, the kind words you've said, the messages you've sent.. there's just no amount of words to express how much they mean to me. happy birthday JR. be proud of yourself today. you're doing the damn thing. 🤝
