Did you know that it took 3,000 men and women working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for 30 consecutive months to build Battleship USS ALABAMA (BB-60)?

🚂 Did you know the Foley Railroad Depot was once sold for just $1?

In 1971, the railroad decided to close the Foley station and tear down the depot. Local businessman John Snook offered to buy the building, and the railroad sold it to him for just $1 — on the condition that he move it.

Snook moved the depot to property he owned in Magnolia Springs, where it remained for more than 20 years.

John and his wife, Marjorie, deeded the depot back to Foley in 1992. After John’s death in 1994, Marjorie underwrote the cost of moving the historic building back to its original site in 1995, where it was renovated to become the Foley Depot Museum.

Quite a journey for a building that has been part of Foley’s history since 1909!

Public works crews from across the Gulf Coast are gearing up to put their skills to the test in a series of heavy equipment competitions — all for a chance to earn bragging rights!

Come watch operators showcase their accuracy, control and technical ability behind the controls of some seriously heavy machinery — plus enjoy equipment demonstrations, BBQ, live music, vendors and more!

🌳 A Tree Full of Memories! 📚❤️

At our old library, this tree was lovingly built for Story Time and became part of so many wonderful memories. When we moved to our new home, our friends gave the tree a new purpose by taking it with them and repurposing it at their location. 🌿✨

We love knowing that a little piece of the old library is still growing and bringing joy in its new home!
