Therafriendly reminder
Your anxiety is anchored in your desire to predict the outcome. What would it look like if you could release your need to control how things are going to unfold?

Grateful for the opportunity to present at the annual Tennessee Licensed Professional Counselors Association Counseling & Therapy Summit.

I had the privilege of speaking on When Your Past Meets Your Practice: Working with Childhood Wounds as a Neurodivergent Clinician, with a focus on helping therapists recognize and honor their neurotype, sensory needs, and accessibility needs as a way to deepen, sharpen, and sustain the work they do.

One of the greatest gifts of understanding my own neurodivergence has been learning to see myself through a different lens. What I once viewed as limitations, I now recognize as information. Learning to honor my nervous system instead of constantly pushing against it has changed the way I work, travel, teach, lead, and live.

This journey is still a work in progress.

My brain is always looking for ways to refine, improve, and grow. But I’m also learning to celebrate the moments where I showed up authentically, trusted myself, and allowed myself to be fully present. Growth isn’t just about identifying what’s next. It’s also about acknowledging what went well.

I’m grateful for the conversations, connections, networking, and opportunities that came from this experience. Every speaking engagement teaches me something new about myself and gives me another chance to refine how I show up in clinical spaces while helping therapists better support themselves and the people they serve.

For now, I’m trading conference rooms for a little rest, some quiet, and a nervous system reset.

TheraFriendly Reminder: You don’t have to earn rest by reaching exhaustion first.

After big events that require a lot of energy, what routines or rituals help you honor your nervous system and sensory needs? 💭✨

I’m excited to be presenting at the Tennessee Licensed Professional Counselors Association Counseling and Therapy Summit in Nashville!

🗓 May 30, 2026
⏰ 3:15 PM - 4:15 PM
📍 Room 111

My session, When Your Past Meets Your Practice: Working with Childhood Wounds as a Neurodivergent Clinician, explores how our own lived experiences, childhood wounds, and neurodivergent identities can show up in the therapy room, for better and for harder.

As clinicians, we spend so much time helping others make sense of their stories. This presentation creates space for us to reflect on our own. Together we’ll explore self-awareness, clinical insight, and practical strategies for navigating the places where our personal experiences intersect with our professional work.

If you’re attending the summit, I’d love to see you there. Come ready for reflection, growth, and meaningful conversation.
