The squeeze lasts a few seconds. The dread lasts weeks. πŸŽ€

What people often tell us about their first mammogram: the build-up was worse than the appointment, the compression was over before they'd braced for it, and the call-back β€” if it came β€” was the hardest part, and usually turned out to be nothing.

Eight slides, start to finish.

Comment if you relate β€” what surprised you about your first mammogram? πŸ’™

You don't need a technique. You need a baseline. πŸŽ€

There's little evidence that a formal monthly self-exam finds cancer earlier when people are also screened β€” which is why most guidance has moved to breast awareness: knowing how your breasts normally look and feel, and reporting anything new.

Look. Feel. Notice. Act. Whenever suits you β€” just often enough to know what's normal.

Save this before your next check. πŸ’™

Five breast changes worth knowing β€” in under a minute. πŸŽ€

A new lump or thickening. Skin that dimples or looks like orange peel. A ni**le that turns in, leaks or crusts. Swelling, with or without a lump. A change in size or shape on one side.

None of them means cancer. Every one of them means a doctor should look β€” now, not after it's been there a month.

Save this β€” and check this month. πŸ’™

The lump is the famous one. It isn't the only one. πŸŽ€

Six changes worth knowing β€” and most of them have ordinary explanations most of the time. Cysts, hormones, eczema, infection. The point isn't to panic at every change. It's to never explain one away for weeks.

New for you? A GP should see it. Not next month.

Save this, and send it to the family group chat. πŸ’™

A new dimple has a mechanism. So does orange-peel skin. πŸ”¬

Breast tissue is anchored to the skin by fine ligaments. Something growing underneath can pull on them β€” which is why dimpling or puckering shows up. Orange-peel skin happens when lymph channels are blocked and fluid builds up.

Most skin changes are eczema, infection or nothing at all. But a change that's new, one-sided and not settling needs a doctor, not a search engine.

Save this, and share it with a parent. πŸ’™

Found a lump? Breathe. Then book. πŸŽ€

Most breast lumps are not cancer β€” usually a cyst or a fibroadenoma β€” and the tests usually confirm exactly that.

What happens next is quicker than most people expect: a GP examines you, and if anything needs a closer look you're referred to a breast clinic for a scan and, if needed, a biopsy β€” often in one visit.

Don't wait to see if it goes. Book it.

Send this to someone who's putting off the appointment. πŸ’™

Not every breast cancer starts as a lump. πŸŽ€

The lump gets all the attention, and it is the most common first sign. But skin that dimples, a ni**le that turns inwards or leaks, swelling in the breast or armpit, a change in shape β€” these are signs too, and they're easier to explain away.

The rule is simpler than the list: if it's new for you, a GP should see it.

Send this to someone who believes it. πŸ’™
