Praying for Allah’s healing mercies…Ameen
Praying for these three young Palestinian men who were shot last night in Vermont on their way to a family dinner (wearing their Keffiyehs).
While the motives are still unclear, we know the climate we’re in. Pray for Hisham, Tahseen, and Kenan as they now fight for their lives.

“And certainly, We shall test you with something of fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to As-Sabirun (the patient).
Who, when afflicted with calamity, say: “Truly! To Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return.”
They are the ones who will receive Allah’s blessings and mercy. And it is they who are ˹rightly˺ guided.
(Quran, Surah al-Baqarah, 2:155-157)
This is a reminder to all that we need to let Allah direct our guide while we continue to put our faith and trust in Him

First photo I took on the day I committed to dressing modestly and wearing my khimar fully in 2020 after almost 5 years of struggling with it . I used to just wrap my hair in turban styles occasionally and will still wear tight fitted outfits.During Ramadan( 2016), I was able to wear a hijab for the whole month which got me thinking - if I could do it for that month why can't I continue to wear it daily? However, I had all these fears and was basically not ready to embark on such a journey. I kept on researching to find answers and continued to pray for guidance. I don't know how I was able to do it, all I remember was I woke up and feeling ready….. I dressed up in my curated modest outfit (blouse + cardigan + mom jeans + hijab), went to the store with mixed emotions and later returned home with no one ever noticing my change except my family.
Alhamdulillah, its been over 2 years now and I am still hyped of becoming a full-time hijabi! I took it upon my self to also help other sisters in their hijab journeys to fulfill their obligation to Allah.
So no matter what stage you are in your hijab journey, dont give up. We see and acknowledge your effort. Most of all, Allahs see’s you and knows your struggle and He will reward you for all your effort. Continue to push yourself and NEVER stop praying to Allah for His guidance, mercy and protection.
Share this post with a Muslim sister who is new or returning back to hijab and dont forget to join us Live on Fridays as we continue to empower women to be unstoppable in hijab.

Let’s chat🗣️: What does the hijab mean to you?
For me, hijab means dedication. It’s a way I constantly remind myself that I am wearing it for the sake of Allah. Regardless of how hard it might be to dress modestly and wear a hijab especially living in the western world where society has its own beauty standards- I had come to the realization that pleasing my maker supersedes the compliments and pleasure of this world. Also, I get to show the world that I am Muslim and proud to be one.
Over to you - what does the hijab mean to you?

As a new hijabi, one of the hardest things regardless of your age is finding balance in the clothes we wear. We understand it’s important to avoid clothing that is highly sexualized, but we also don’t want to lose our femininity or forget about our sense of fashion and style.
The good news is that balance can be found through practicing modesty. Learning how to dress modestly does not have to be a trial! When we follow the principles of our faith, it becomes much easier to enjoy our clothes and set a positive example for others to follow.
Here are a some list of items you may need in your closet to make your hijab journey less stressful:
✨ Hijab/ scarf and hijab magnets or pins
✨Maxi , Midi or long slip dresses
✨ Maxi skirts ( Pleated /non Pleated)
✨Blazers or Jackets, cardigans
✨ Long sleeve button down shirts or T-Shirts
✨ Boyfriend Jeans or wide leg pants
What else would you add to this list?

As Muslims whenever we begin something of importance, we make zikr of Allah- we seek His blessings and guidance. One of my favorite dua to make is verse 10 of Surah Kahf in the Quran:
Rabbana atina min ladunka rahmatan wahhayi’ Lana min amrina rashada.
Because this dua is a dua that should be said when you are in difficult circumstances or when you’re undertaking a journey you don’t know the consequences, when you are uncertain about your affairs, and when you need Allah’s help when the situation is difficult and dire.
Let’s make it a priority to recite this Dua on a regular basis so that Allah will see us through our ordeals, make easy for us that which is best , and put right all our affairs - in this world and hereafter….Ameen
Jumma Mubarak!

Hijabs and abayas are delicate and need to be hand washed most times…. It is best to wash a hijab or abaya once at least after 2- 3 wears depending on the fabric and climate in which you live. But as always, if you need to use an abaya of hijab and don’t have to wash it, try this simple and easy trick: air your hijabs and abaya’s out and lightly spritz with unscented fabric odor eliminator like febreze or essential oil mixed with water solution to keep them looking fresh
