What does it actually look like to work with a custom software partner?

Every Counterpart project starts the same way: by understanding the people, processes, and challenges behind it before we talk about technology.

From discovery and planning to design, development, testing, and long-term support, we’ve built a process that helps organizations tackle complex challenges with confidence.

If you’ve ever wondered what happens between the first conversation and a successful software launch, we put together a behind-the-scenes look at how a Counterpart project works.

We had a great time at this year's IHSAA Foundation Golf Outing!

Steve, Ian, JT, and Matt represented Counterpart on the course, spending the day with friends, partners, and supporters of education-based athletics from across Indiana.

Thanks to the IHSAA Foundation for hosting another wonderful event. We're proud to support an organization we've been fortunate to partner with for many years.

Congratulations to the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education on the latest expansion of Futuriti.org.

As Kentucky students head back to school, they have a new way to explore the career and technical education pathways offered right in their own communities, and to see how today's classes connect to real careers, credentials, and college or apprenticeship options down the road.

We're proud to be the technology partner behind the Futuriti platform and its Future Finder tool, which brings Kentucky-specific information on careers, wages, and schools into one place students and families can actually use.

Great work by the CPE team. Take a look: Futuriti.org

Most people never think about the code behind a website’s colors, layouts, or buttons. Developers do.

As websites and applications grow, keeping those styles organized becomes increasingly important. That’s where SCSS comes in.

In our latest Tech Talk, we’re taking a look at how SCSS helps developers create cleaner, more manageable stylesheets and why it’s become a common tool in modern web development.

What happens when people come together around a shared goal?

At Affinity Giving Grants Day, the answer was clear: incredible ideas, inspiring people, and meaningful support for projects making a difference across Indiana University communities.

Arianna recently attended the event as part of the Women's Philanthropy Leadership Council, where she met grant finalists, learned about their work, and saw firsthand how collective giving helps bring important initiatives to life.

From student success and academic enrichment to public health and community impact, the projects showcased throughout the day reflected the many ways people are working to create positive change.

We're grateful to have been part of the experience and excited to share a few highlights.

Most people think quality assurance is all about finding bugs before launch.

The reality is a little more interesting.

Quality assurance helps teams understand how real people will use software, uncover issues before users encounter them, and improve the overall experience long before a product reaches production.

In our latest blog, QA Specialist JT Wellspring shares insights from his work, including lessons learned while testing software in real-world environments and why quality assurance is most effective when it's part of the process from the very beginning.

Ever had an issue magically disappear the moment someone tries to fix it?

In software development, those are called Heisenbugs. They’re the kinds of bugs that change behavior or vanish completely during testing, which can make troubleshooting surprisingly difficult.

In this month’s Tech Talk, we’re diving into:
💻 Timing and concurrency issues
🔄 Why restarting something sometimes “fixes” the problem
📊 How developers monitor hard-to-reproduce bugs
🧩 What Heisenbugs reveal about modern software systems

We were proud to participate in the third annual Building Dreams Champions Breakfast hosted by the Fight for Life Foundation . 💙

The event celebrated the educators, students, volunteers, schools, and community partners helping make a difference in the lives of young people across Indianapolis.

From recognizing this year's champions to hearing directly from educators about the realities facing today's students, the morning was a powerful reminder that student success takes an entire community working together.

Thank you to the Fight for Life Foundation for continuing to invest in mentorship, wellness, opportunity, and support for students both inside and outside the classroom.
